On connecting with her fans: “I love that fans have the opportunity to connect with the artists as people, as opposed to the artists as artists.”

On her influences: “I grew up watching a lot of fun 80′s movies, 70′s sitcom reruns, and SNL, so that’s where I found a lot of inspiration.”

On acting as a career: “I think of it [acting] as a long-term relationship. It has its ups and downs but it can potentially be very challenging, entertaining, and rewarding.”

Jennette McCurdy faces an uphill battle in this first trailer for her new Netflix show Between, given exclusively to JustJared.com.

Between is the story of a town under siege from a mysterious disease that has wiped out everybody except those 21 years old and under.

The series explores the power vacuum that results when a government has quarantined a 10-mile diameter area and left the inhabitants to fend for themselves.

“I felt that Netflix was the perfect platform for my fans and this type of show,” Jennette told JJ about taking on the role.

Netflix just announced plans to release a new series starring former Nickelodeon star Jennette McCurdy on a week-by-week basis.

The 22-year-old actress will star in the new drama Between, which will first debut on the Canadian channel City starting May 21 at 8pm.

Netflix will begin to air the drama an hour later starting at 9pm and new episodes will be released every week, which is a departure from the streaming service’s binge-viewing releases, according to THR.
