Grimes is opening up about her five-month-old son X Æ A-12 Musk and the type of art she has been showing to him.

The 32-year-old singer, who welcomed her son with partner Elon Musk back in May, says her son likes “radical” art.

“I’ve watched Apocalypse Now and stuff with my baby,” Grimes told the New York Times. “He’s into radical art. Like, he just actually is, and I don’t think it’s problematic to engage with them on that level.”

Apocalypse Now was rated R for “disturbing violent content, pervasive language, some sexuality and drug use.”

Grimes says that her son has actually helped her produce new music.

“The first version, there [were] too many sort of sharp bells, and it caused tears and just general chaos,” Grimes said about the music she produced for the app Endel. When she changed the mix, “X would smile more and stuff.”

Over the summer, Grimes responded to one of Elon‘s tweets and told him to turn off his phone after something he wrote.

Elon Musk is coming under fire for one of his latest tweets tonight (July 24).

The tech CEO and billionaire took to the social media network to claim that “Pronouns suck”, and immediately was ridiculed on the platform for his words.

“Who else cringes more and more often every time they see Elon tweet lately?” one person wrote.

While another added, “Pretty disgusting to see from you. What’s so hard about calling someone a pronoun?”

Elon‘s partner, Grimes, also called out his tweet.

“I love you but please turn off ur phone or give me a dall [sic],” she wrote on her Twitter. “I cannot support hate. Please stop this. I know this isn’t your heart.”

Well, in the background of the photo, Elon‘s partner Grimes could be seen taking the photo! Fans noticed quickly, and went on Twitter to point it out.

“Grimes has a better pose and outfit than both of them she isn’t even in front of the camera,” one fan tweeted. Another tweeted, “completely ignoring you both to look at grimes in the window reflection taking the pic.” So many people were tweeting about Grimes that she started trending on Twitter!

When the baby was first born last month, the couple revealed they actually wanted to name their child X Æ A-12 Musk.

Then the couple revealed a few weeks later that they actually had to change their son’s name and there was a specific reason why.

The birth certificate was revealed by TMZ and thoroughly explains that his first name is “X,” his middle name is “AE A-X,” and his last name is “Musk.”

While promoting her upcoming fine art show, the 32-year-old artist revealed that she doesn’t call him by his full name at all.

Instead, Grimes prefers to just call him “little X”. If you’re wondering, here’s how to pronounce it, too.

Just recently, Grimes and partner Elon Musk revealed that they had to change their son’s name from X Æ A-12 to the new version of X Æ A-Xii.

“Roman numerals. Looks better tbh,” she wrote in a comment to a fan on Instagram, before explaining that California laws only allow you to have one dash in a first name.

Grimes is showcasing her art – and offering part of her soul.

The 32-year-old Art Angels artist is debuting her first-ever fine art show at Gallery Platform Los Angeles (May 28 – June 3) and Maccarone Los Angeles (May 28 – August 31).

The art show, called Selling Out, will include “drawings, prints, photographs and conceptual pieces she’s made over the last decade,” according to Bloomberg.

“I made art 10, 12 years before I ever touched a keyboard,” she explained.

One particularly noteworthy piece is Selling Out, a “legal document whereby the purchaser acquires a percentage of Grimes’s soul.”

“I didn’t want anyone to buy it, so I said we should just make it $10 million and then it probably won’t sell,” she explained of the piece.

“The deeper we got with it, the more philosophically interesting it became. Also, I really wanted to collaborate with my lawyer on art. The idea of fantastical art in the form of legal documents just seems very intriguing to me,” she went on to say.

“With the current state of the world, do you want to put something up for $10 million?” she added, settling on a “best offer” price, allowing the public to decide.

The 32-year-old singer revealed the name change on Sunday night (May 24).

“Did you change the baby name because of Californian laws? What is the baby’s new name?” a fan wrote on Grimes‘ latest Instagram post.

Grimes replied to the post, sharing that her son’s name is now X Æ A-Xii. While replying to another fan, Grimes revealed that “one dash is allowed” in California law.

She also added that, “Roman numerals. Looks better tbh.”

After giving birth to X Æ A-Xii earlier this month, fans pointed out that the name on the baby’s official birth certificate wouldn’t be accepted as valid by the state of California, since the state doesn’t allow symbols, numbers or Roman numerals on birth certificates.

Now that the change has been made, the baby’s name should be accepted by the state.
