Eddie Murphy Is 'Floating' After Winning His First Emmy Award

Eddie Murphy is a first time Emmy winner!

The 59-year-old actor picked up his first trophy from the Television Academy this weekend, winning for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his Saturday Night Live hosting gig.

Eddie won the honor over Adam Driver, Luke Kirby, Dev Patel, Brad Pitt, and the late Fred Willard.

After hearing that he won, Eddie recorded a special message and showed off his Emmy, which sits next to his Grammy, and some other awards.

“Thank you to everybody at the Emmys,” he shared. “Thank you so much for giving me an Emmy. I don’t have an Emmy. It’s been 40 years since I started Saturday Night Live, this is my first Emmy, so thank you so much.”

Eddie added, “This was a very, very special thing for me to come back and have the show turn out the way it did. I’m still floating from it.”

This wasn’t the comedian’s first Emmy nomination. Eddie had been nominated four times before, starting in 1983.

Emmys Fashion: Regina King's Red Carpet Looks Have Always Been So Chic!

Regina King is a three-time Emmy Award winner and she’s expected to win yet another award during tonight’s virtual show!

Since there won’t be a red carpet for the 2020 Emmy Awards, we decided to look back at all of the great fashion that she has worn in the past.

Regina made her first Emmys appearance in 2015 when she was nominated for the first season of American Crime. She took home the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or a Movie while wearing a Krikor Jabotian dress.

In 2016, Regina wore a red Elizabeth Kennedy dress and won again in the same category for the second season of American Crime. She was nominated a third time in 2017, but didn’t win. She wore a black, white, and gray Galia Lahav dress that year.

Regina won the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her work in Seven Seconds in 2018. She stunned in a neon yellow Christian Siriano dress.

Though she wasn’t nominated in 2019, Regina attended the event as a presenter and wore a blue Jason Wu Collection dress.

This year, Regina is nominated for her work in the HBO limited series Watchmen.

The 51-year-old actress is nominated for her seventh Emmy tonight and we gathered photos from the six previous times that she attended the event.

Jen‘s first Emmys appearance was in 1995, the first year that Friends was nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series. Her only other Emmys appearance was in 2003, when she was joined at the show by a friend.

Back in 2002, Jennifer won the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her work as Rachel Green and Friends also won its only award for Outstanding Comedy Series that year.

Jennifer was nominated for her work on Friends five times and she also was nominated in 2009 for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her guest spot on 30 Rock.
