Michael C. Hall‘s hit show Dexter ended last night, drawing in 2.8 million viewers for its series finale, according to Deadline!
The show’s series finale brought in a greater audience than the seventh season finale, which had 2.7 million viewers.

With replays considered, Dexter had 3.3 million viewers on Sunday, even with the 2013 Emmy Awards airing on the same day. The final eighth season averaged 6.4 million viewers.
Dexter was not the only Showtime show to do well on Emmys Sunday, Liev Schreiber‘s Ray Donovan drew 2.1 million viewers for its first season finale.
