Daniel Craig Confirms Whether or Not He Has American Passport

Daniel Craig is opening up about his citizenship status.

The 51-year-old British actor, known for playing James Bond, spoke to any rumors at the premiere of his latest film Knives Out in Los Angeles.

“Everybody in this country’s an immigrant,” he told People. “That’s what the country’s built upon. We can’t forget it. We can’t just dismiss it … but it’s difficult, and it takes thought, and it takes smart people thinking about it instead of dividing people along party lines … and also along this anger that kind of builds up.”

“It needs to be discussed … and that’s hard,” he continued. “Good things are hard to do. I’m incredibly proud to be part of this, to have an American passport and call myself an immigrant in this country.”

“I’m part of an amazing period in history that created this country and I’m proud to be a part of it,” he added.

Daniel Craig Fires Back at Reporter Who Suggest Phoebe Waller-Bridge Was a Diversity Hire for 'Bond' Movie

Daniel Craig isn’t here for the assertion that Phoebe Waller-Bridge landed a writing job on the new James Bond movie simply because of her gender.

The 51-year-old actor fired back at a reporter who seemingly insinuated that Phoebe was hired for the upcoming film No Time to Die as a diversity hire.

“Look, we’re having a conversation about Phoebe’s gender here, which is f–king ridiculous. She’s a great writer. Why shouldn’t we get Phoebe onto Bond?” Daniel told The Sunday Times.

“She’s just brilliant. I had my eye on her ever since the first Fleabag, and then I saw Killing Eve and what she did with that and just wanted her voice,” he added. “It is so unique — we are very privileged to have her on board.”

Daniel says that Phoebe‘s hiring was not because of the #MeToo era, in which studios are working on hiring more women.

“I know where you’re going but I don’t actually want to have that conversation,” he said in the interview. “I know what you’re trying to do but it’s wrong. It’s absolutely wrong. She’s a f–king great writer. One of the best English writers around. I said, ‘Can we get her on the film?’ That’s where I came from.”

Daniel Craig Makes Emotional Speech at 'No Time to Die' Wrap Party

Daniel Craig has wrapped work on his final James Bond movie, No Time to Die.

The 51-year-old actor gave an emotional speech at the film’s wrap party earlier this month in Matera, Italy.

“I just want to say, and I am really quite drunk now so I won’t go on for long, this has been one of the best, most wonderful experiences I have ever had,” Daniel said in a video that was shared to Twitter. “You have all done the most amazing job. I could not be more proud to work with every single one of you on this production. I would like to thank you for this evening, for Barbara [Broccoli, producer], for putting it on. Thank goodness, we did this tonight.”

While the cast and crew already celebrated at a wrap party, filming does not appear to be finished. They were spotted filming an action sequence just a few days ago.
