Colin Farrell Says 'The Batman' Script Is 'Really Beautiful, Dark & Moving' - Watch Here!

Colin Farrell is spilling some details about the upcoming movie, The Batman!

While making an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday (January 22), the 43-year-old actor dished about playing the Penguin in the anticipated Matt Reeves-directed film.

“I’m in the process of talking to Matt Reeves, who’s the director, who wrote the script, and who wrote a really beautiful, dark, moving script, really gorgeous,” Colin expressed.

“It’s all very hush hush,” Colin added, “but it’s a really beautiful script that he wrote and he has a real love for it, Matt. So, we’re in the process of finishing designing the aesthetic of the character.”

Colin also talked about the earthquake in Los Angeles, receiving a “black card” to his favorite Kebab shop “Abrakebabra” in Ireland, discovering what his ancestry is after taking a 23 & Me DNA test and his new movie The Gentleman directed by Guy Ritchie.

Colin Farrell Confirms on 'Ellen' He Starts Shooting 'The Batman' in Two Weeks!

Colin Farrell makes an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, airing Wednesday (January 22) and confirms his role in the upcoming movie The Batman!

“I’m playing a character that is known as the Penguin,” the 43-year-old tells Ellen. “Yes, the reviews are in!,” he adds as the audience cheers.

“I start in about two weeks,” Colin confirms.

“They’re sick of me being a bad guy,” Colin adds about his kids knowing him as Penguin, quipping of their real-life opinion of him, “Which apparently, reading between the lines, leads me to believe that they think I’m okay.”

Robert Pattinson will be playing Batman in the upcoming film alongside Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman.

Colin Farrell Confirmed for 'The Batman' Role Opposite Robert Pattinson!

Colin Farrell has been in talks to play the Penguin in the upcoming movie The Batman and now director Matt Reeves has confirmed that he has joined the cast!

The director took to Twitter on Monday (January 6) and wrote, “Wait — is that you, #Oz?” He included a GIF of Colin shrugging.

The Penguin’s real name in the DC Comics is Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot, which explains why Matt mentioned Oz in the tweet.

Robert Pattinson will be playing Batman in the upcoming film alongside Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Andy Serkis as Pennyworth, and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon.

Colin Farrell is in talks to play The Penguin!

The 43-year-old Total Recall actor is in negotiations with Warner Bros. to take on the villainous role in Matt Reeves‘ upcoming The Batman, according to Deadline on Tuesday (November 5).

The role was originated by Danny DeVito in Batman Returns in 1992.

In addition, Andy Serkis is in talks to play Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce Wayne’s butler, in the film, according to Variety.

As previously reported, Robert Pattinson will play Batman, Paul Dano will play The Riddler and Zoe Kravitz will play Catwoman.

Pre-production is expected to begin next summer, and the movie is set to hit theaters on June 25, 2021.

Colin Farrell, Lily-Rose Depp, & Tye Sheridan Will Star in Sci-Fi Film 'Voyagers'

Colin Farrell, Lily-Rose Depp, and Tye Sheridan are starring in a new movie together!

The 42-year-old Dumbo actor, the 19-year-old A Faithful Man actress, and the 22-year-old Ready Player One actor are teaming up for Neil Burger‘s new sci-fi thriller Voyagers, Deadline reports.

Dunkirk‘s Fionn Whitehead also joins the cast.

According to the outlet, “advanced discussions” are also in progress with Mudbound‘s Kelvin Harrison, Game of ThronesIsaac Hempstead Wright, Roxanne Roxanne‘s Chante Adams, and Bizaardvark‘s Madison Hu.

Voyagers tells the story of “30 children who are sent on a multi-generational mission to populate a new planet. After the captain of the mission is killed in mysterious circumstances, the young crew descends into chaos, aligning themselves into tribes as they surrender to their most feral impulses.”

Production is set to begin in early June in Romania.
