CNN's Chris Cuomo Shows His Lungs on Air Amid Coronavirus Battle

Chris Cuomo revealed he has Coronavirus last week, and during his primetime CNN show, he showed what his lungs looked like via an X-ray.

“If you have coronavirus, in most of the cases, the big fear is that it’s going to get your lungs — that’s what it wants; it wants your lungs,” Chris said on the air.

Then, Dr. Sanjay Gupta spoke about what he saw, and said he saw a “little bit of fluid built up” but it was not quite pneumonia yet.

“[Doctors] expect me to have infiltrate because I have the virus, and I have to tell you,” Chris said, “it is scary to have your lungs go up there and see this stuff and go, ‘Well, what is that? What is that, like, smoke in there?’ And they tell you, ‘Yeah, it’s the virus.’”

Chris recently revealed the shocking amount of weight he has lost since he contracted the virus.

He called it “the beast,” saying it was “no cakewalk,” but that he’s “not looking to scare people.”

“I’ve lost 13 pounds in three days. I’m a big guy. I started off at 230 pounds. My wife is feeding me like, you know, we were still in the dating phase. So it’s not like I’m hurting for nutrition. I’m eating and drinking constantly, I’m just sweating it out and it’s the sickness,” he went on to say.

He also called out “B.S. on the internet that people are trying to peddle as cures.”

“Fake pills, fake tonics … People are selling a lot of lies and people are buying them up because of the desperation and I get it, but they don’t work. There’s no proof in any of them and I think we have to be very careful about people preying on desperation.”

He went on to say his fever is still “probably around 101.”

There are dozens of stars who have come forward with their positive coronavirus diagnosis.

Chris Cuomo Says Coronavirus Fever Was So Bad He Chipped a Tooth & Hallucinated Seeing Deceased Father

Chris Cuomo is detailing his coronavirus battle.

While broadcasting from his basement as he self-quarantines at home, the 49-year-old CNN anchor said he was shaking so severely that he ended up chipping a tooth.

“I’ve never had anything like it,” Chris said on-air on Wednesday (April 1) as he detailed his symptoms from the night before. “I’ve had a fever, you’ve had a fever. But 102, 103, 103 plus… that wouldn’t quit. And it was like somebody was beating me like a pinata. I shivered so much that… I chipped my tooth.”

“I never experienced any kind of fever like what I have going on all the time, and the body aches, and the tremors and the concern about not being able to do anything about it,” Chris continued.

From the high fever, Chris said that started hallucinating, saying he was talking to his father Mario Cuomo, who died in 2015.

“I was up all night, I’m telling you, I was hallucinating,” Chris continued. “My dad was talking to me. I was seeing people from college, people I hadn’t seen in forever. It was freaky, what I went through last night. And it may happen again tonight.”

Despite the symptoms, Chris said that he’s just grateful wife Christina and their three kids have so far tested negative, and he plans on maintaining a strict quarantine until he fully recovers.

“My biggest fear was passing this on to Cristina and the kids,” Chris said. “Even though I feel way worse than I did yesterday in terms of symptoms, it’s been a great day. They’re [tested] negative and that is the best thing I’ve ever heard.”

Don Lemon Breaks Down Talking About Chris Cuomo's Diagnosis

Don Lemon broke down live on the air during his CNN show when talking about another anchor at the network, Chris Cuomo, who was diagnosed as one of the New Yorkers fighting against the global health pandemic.

At the end of a segment, CNN analyst Bianna Golodryga told Don, “You try to be stoic and focus on the headlines—it’s tough, it’s tough. I also feel for Chris and I know it’s tough for you and we’re all fighting and rooting for him tonight.”

Don then grabbed a tissue and got emotional.

“I said I wasn’t going to do this. Jesus. He’s probably sitting at home laughing at me. So, here’s the thing—when I walk into work every day—Chris and I are really good friends, we live near each other—so, when I walk into work every day, I have to walk by where Chris is, so I usually go to his office and then I say, you know, what’s doing, sometimes I bring in the dogs and we just say hello,” Don said.
