“Lorne Michaels tried to help me. After season four he went, ‘You know, you can work here as long as you want.’ And that was his way of, like, ‘Chill the fuck out,’” Bill recalled.

Stephen then brings up Bill‘s talent for impersonations, which leads to both men trading their very good, hilarious, and relevant takes on James Mason.

What is it about his own psyche that led him to become a killer in the first place?

Stephen Root, Sarah Goldberg, Anthony Carrigan and Henry Winkler all star in the series.

On feeling like a misfit: “I know what that feels like. That was me at SNL in my first season. I so badly wanted to be a part of it.”

On what he thinks of his Barry character: “People are complicated, and some of us are really fucking awful. People always ask me, ‘Well, do you like Barry?’ I’m like, ‘No! He kills people.’”

On being known for comedy: “I think the nice thing about me is that people knew me on SNL, but not a lot of people, like, really knew me. They were just like, ‘Oh, that’s the guy who does impressions.’ I think that really worked in my favor. Now, when I do Barry, I’m not in my head.”
