Joel Edgerton and his girlfriend Alexis Blake hit the red carpet at the premiere of his new film The Great Gatsby on Wednesday (May 1) at Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall in New York City.

The 38-year-old actor was joined by director Baz Luhrmann (with wife Catherine Martin), co-stars Callan McAuliffe and Adelaide Clemens, and soundtrack contributor Emeli Sande.

FYI: Joel is wearing an Ermenegildo Zegna suit, shirt, and tie. Adelaide is wearing an A.L.C. dress with Forevermark diamonds and a Marchesa clutch.

Amanda Seyfried poses with Baz Luhrmann and his daughter Lillian while sitting in the Moet & Chandon Suite at the 2012 U.S. Open held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on Sunday (September 9) in New York City.

The 26-year-old actress and the 49-year-old director watched as Serena Williams won her fourth U.S. Open crown. Amanda also sat in the same suite late last month.

Here’s the film’s synopsis: Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire), a Midwesterner now living on Long Island, finds himself fascinated by the mysterious past and lavish lifestyle of his neighbor, Jay Gatsby (DiCaprio). He is drawn into Gatsby’s circle, becoming a witness to obsession and tragedy.

Carey Mulligan, Isla Fisher, Joel Edgerton, and Callan McAuliffe also star in the Baz Luhrmann-directed flick.

Baz Lurhmann was injured on the set of The Great Gatsby on Thursday (December 22).

The 49-year-old Aussie director required three stitches after bumping into a camera crane, Australia’s Sydney Morning Herald reports.

”We were on quite a cramped set and he was ducking under the crane,” co-producer Anton Monsted told the Herald. ”He struck his head on the weights on the end of the camera crane. He split open his head and we had to get the doctor.”

Cast members including Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, and Carey Mulligan went home for the holidays a day early after producers decided to stop filming.

In November, Carey got a call from Baz saying she landed the role of Daisy Buchanan, prompting the 25-year-old British actress to burst into tears at the CFDA Awards!

Though Ben Affleck was initially rumored to be in talks to play Tom Buchanan, Deadline reports Joel Edgerton will take on that role.

Leonardo DiCaprio is set to play Jay Gatsby, while Tobey Maguire has been cast as Nick Carraway and Isla Fisher as Myrtle.

Hugh Jackman and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness attend the 9th Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation’s “An Enduring Vision” benefit at NYC’s Cipriani Wall Street on Monday (October 18).

Hugh‘s Australia director Baz Luhrmann was also in attendance.

Over the weekend, Hugh spent time playing sports with his two kids, Ava, and Oscar.

The trio headed to a local park where Hugh, 42, kicked a soccer ball around with Oscar and carried Ava on his shoulders.

Leonardo DiCaprio is rumored to be up for the lead in the big screen adaptation of The Great Gatsby.

The 35-year-old Inception star would play Jay Gatsby from the classic F. Scott Fitzgerald novel about life during the roaring 20s, Production Weekly reports on its Twitter page.

Amanda Seyfried has reportedly been considered for the role of Daisy Buchanan, while Tobey Maguire would play Nick Carraway.

Australian director Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge, Romeo + Juliet) is deciding whether to work on the period piece or direct a different project.

“I’ve got the script for both of them and I’m making that decision in four to six weeks, no longer than six weeks,” he recently told MTV News.
