Ray MacDonnell Dead - 'All My Children' Actor, Who Played Joe Martin, Dies at 93

Ray MacDonnell has sadly passed away at the age of 93.

The soap opera veteran, who was best known for playing patriarch Dr. Joe Martin on the ABC series All My Children, died on June 10 at his home in Chappaqua, New York.

Ray died from natural causes, according to Michael Fairman TV. His daughter told the outlet that there “will be a private memorial with close relatives and family.”

Ray was one of the original cast members of All My Children and he stayed with the show for nearly 40 years, leaving Susan Lucci as the only original cast member remaining on the show. He later returned to the show multiple times, including the 2011 finale.

Back in 2004, Ray was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Daytime Emmy Awards.

Ray also starred in the series The Edge of Night for eight years.
