'Call Me By Your Name' Director Gives Update on the Potential Sequel

Luca Guadagnino, the director of the Oscar-nominated movie Call Me By Your Name, is opening up about the potential plans for a sequel.

There has been lots of talk about the sequel after Luca previously confirmed that he was working on the film. He also said that “everyone will be in the new movie,” including Timothee Chalamet, Armie Hammer, and Michael Stuhlbarg.

In the year since those comments, a lot has changed though.

Luca just talked to Deadline about starting production on his new movie Bones and All, also starring Timothee. The outlet says it “sounds like the director has moved on” from the idea of the Call Me By Your Name sequel.

“The truth of the matter is, my heart is still there, but I’m working on this movie now, and I’m hopefully going to do Scarface soon, and I have many projects and so will focus on this side of the Atlantic and the movies I want to make,” Luca said.

Timothee has a packed schedule right now with the just announced Wonka movie and planned sequels for Dune. Armie has the opposite problem right now, but the studio might want to distance itself from him after all of the recent allegations made against him.
