Sheryl Underwood Explains Why She Didn't Respond to Sharon Osbourne's Texts After 'The Talk' Feud

Sheryl Underwood and Sharon Osbourne‘s feud made more headlines last week and now some explanation is being given.

In a recent episode of her podcast, Sheryl said that she had not spoken to Sharon since their on-air feud on The Talk aired and she also claimed her co-star never reached out.

Sharon then released the text messages she sent to Sheryl in the days following that on-air argument. She said at the time, “Why are you saying I never apologized Sheryl? What are you trying to do to me? Why are you trying to destroy my reputation? Just be honest. Tell me.”

While returning to television on The Talk on Monday (April 12), Sheryl addressed the text messages and explained why she never responded.

“I want to clear something up. There was a discussion about Sharon and I communicating with each other,” she said. “I have not spoken to [her], and do not have any phone call, missed or received, that I can find in my phone [from her]. But there were text messages sent to me and the reason I did not speak about or acknowledge or even respond those text messages is because they were coming to me during the internal investigation. And I’ve never been through anything like this so I didn’t know if you’re supposed to communicate or not communicate while there’s an internal investigation.”

“So, I want to be clear on this. I have not spoken to Sharon. I have not had a phone call from her,” she added. “People have asked me, ‘Well, if you see Sharon, what would you do?’ If she greeted me warmly and sincerely, I would give her back the same, because we’ve been on this show for 10 years. I want people to understand when you’re friends with somebody you stay friends. And what did Maya Angelou say? When people show you who they are, believe them.”

Sheryl also discussed the PTSD she experienced after the on-air fight.
