Cam Newton Tests Positive for COVID-19, Will Miss Next Patriots Game
Cam Newton, the new quarterback for the New England Patriots, has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 and he will miss the team’s upcoming game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Patriots confirmed that a player on the team has coronavirus, but they did not reveal the identity of the player.
“Late last night, we received notice that a Patriots player tested positive for COVID-19. The player immediately entered self-quarantine,” the Patriots said in a statement. “Several additional players, coaches and staff who have been in close contact with the player received point of care tests this morning and all were negative for COVID-19.”
ESPN‘s sources say that the player is Cam.
The Patriots’ head coach Bill Belichick said earlier this week that the team is monitoring the teammates for COVID-19 every day to make sure that they stay healthy.
