New Girl's Lamorne Morris Is Helping His Childhood Friend Campaign for Congress!

Lamorne Morris steps out in his Rosa Parks tee while running errands along Ventura Blvd. on Wednesday (June 10) in Studio City, Calif.

The 36-year-old actor ran into a friend outside of a store and they were seen chatting with each other.

Lamorne has been active on Instagram this week while helping his childhood friend Qasim Rashid campaign for a spot in Congress.

“This is important. I’m gonna ask y’all to donate to @QasimRashidVA’s campaign for Congress but let me first tell you who he is. When you were growing up, did you ever talk about what you would do if you were in charge? How we’d stop racism, injustice, and hatred?” Lamorne wrote in his post. “My childhood brother Qasim Rashid and I grew up together. We didn’t have a lot, but we knew if we ever made it, we’d fight to help others make it. Now, he’s running for Congress and speaking truth to power to stop racism and white supremacy.”

Lamorne says that Qasim has condemned “white supremacy, police brutality, and the systemic injustices Black and Brown people face every day. He’s gotten death threats for his activism but he doesn’t stop. Think about that. People are threatening to murder him because he condemns racism and white supremacy. (Google it) But he doesn’t stop. He’s running against a guy who refuses to condemn police brutality and actively works to oppress Black and Brown communities. I need you all to help me get Qasim elected. He doesn’t take corporate money. We the People need to support him.”
