Todrick Hall Reveals How Quick Things Can Get Taken Out Of Context In Series of Tweets About Press Interviews
Todrick Hall is opening up on Twitter about the truth behind press interviews, following his latest with Attitude magazine coming out.
The 34-year-old entertainer got real about what happens with celeb interviews and how things can quickly be taken out of context.
“I’m just going to put this out there, not for people who are looking for new reasons to not like me, but for people who actually seek the truth because I’m going to be doing a lot of press coming up surrounding the show I’m doing in the UK,” he first wrote.
Todrick adds, “One of the reasons celebs don’t enjoy doing press is because people want you to come across natural, unrehearsed and ‘real’ but everything you say can be taken out of context and used to feed cancel culture. Sometimes a word or phrase may be used that doesn’t exactly represent how the artist feels because it’s their 12th interview in a day, in a different time zone, and they’re sleep deprived, etc.”
“I think we should be looking at the bigger picture and understanding the overall message of what someone is trying to say rather than looking for reasons to re-cancel someone.”

I love Taylor, I don't take ownership over anything that she's done, I'm just proud of her for speaking up and including the LGBTQ+ community in her music, videos and message. And I'm glad that our friendship has helped encourage that in any way. That's all.

In other news, I'm SOOOO excited about my UK television debut tomorrow night on the BBC. This is a dream come true, and it's going to be life changing for so many up and coming performers.

I fear that we're society is breeding a new generation of people who think it's ok to go online & just Regina George each other with no consequences. But twitter should not be your burn book. Mental health is a real thing and attacking someone online who you don't know is unsafe.

Also…I don't choose the topics in the interviews. I agree to do it and I answer the questions that I'm asked and truthfully and honestly as I can. I'm human and often times think, I could have answered that differently, but I don't bring Taylor, Bey or Rupaul up. They do.
