Pregnant Rachel Bloom & Husband Dan Gregor Taken in By Local Couple After Being Stranded By Storm
Talk about a holiday miracle!
Rachel Bloom – who is currently seven-months pregnant – and husband Dan Gregor reached out to fans for help after they were stranded by a snow storm in Bakersfield, Calif.
“Hi. My husband and I are stranded in Bakersfield,” the 32-year-old Crazy Ex-Girlfriend star tweeted on Friday (December 27). “Does…anyone have a place we could sleep?”
“We are stranded here or theoretically north of here (every highway going south is closed) and every hotel that’s open is at least a 2 hour drive away and we’re about to just sleep in our car,” Rachel wrote in a second tweet.
After seeing her call for help, local couple Karen and Chris, messaged Rachel telling her that she and Dan could stay at their home.
“We figured that our house is a little better than the Denny’s parking lot,” Chris shared with KGET News after seeing Rachel‘s tweet.
“I tweeted and just said ‘Hey we have a room. There’s cats and dogs and pie and bagels. Come on down,’” Karen added.
Rachel and Dan accepted the offered, and shared the news in a video where she said, “We didn’t have to sleep in our car last night, honestly thanks to social media and the kindness of people on it.”
“I am just glad we were there because it is so scary to have to sleep in your car,” Karen said. “Like anybody, whether or not it is a beloved television personality. Nobody should have to sleep in their car when it is 30 degrees out.”
Karen also joked that they told Rachel to name her child after the couple. “We all agreed she would name the child Karen Stephen Kay,” she said.

Thanks to the overwhelming kindness of @kaybeezeey and @porfenablah and his family, Gregor and I were able to sleep in a warm bed last night (unlike the thousands of people who were forced to sleep in their cars). Beware if you’re taking the 5, 58 or 15! https://t.co/ghPUsVqZQU
