'Twilight' Author Originally Wanted These Actors to Portray Edward, Bella & More!

All five of the Twilight movies just arrived on Netflix and we have a cool behind-the-scenes scoop for you to check out while rewatching the films!

Author Stephenie Meyer, who wrote the Twilight book series, shared a blog post she wrote from 2007 that has recently resurfaced with her original actor and actress choices to play the title characters in the movies!

Back in 2007, before the first movie was made, Stephenie wrote on her blog, “My opinions on the movie matter to no one. I have no influence on what goes on with the movie at all. No one is going to ask who I think should star in Twilight.”

So basically, Stephenie‘s opinions on who should be cast weren’t taken into consideration.

Twilight hit theaters on November 21, 2008 and starred Kristen Stewart as Bella and Robert Pattinson as Edward.

Anna Kendrick Had the Funniest Response to a 'Twilight' Tweet from Drag Queen Trixie Mattel

You might not remember, but Anna Kendrick had a small role in the Twilight franchise and she had the funniest response to a new tweet about her part!

The Oscar-nominated actress played Jessica Stanley in four of the five movies. She was Kristen Stewart‘s character Bella’s first friend in her new hometown of Forks.

RuPaul’s Drag Race star Trixie Mattel tweeted on Friday night (March 19), “why does Bella® want to die is being friends with Anna Kendrick that bad.”

Anna saw the tweet quickly after it was posted and wrote the best response. She said, “Well I would ask a friend, but they’re all f–king dead, Trixie.”

Trixie responded by sharing a GIF of Sarah Jessica Parker in Hocus Pocus with the caption, “I’ll be thy friend.”

Last year, Anna took to Twitter to pitch herself for a movie role in response to a fan’s tweet.

Kristen Stewart Opens Up About Coming Out as Queer & Dating in the Public Eye

Kristen Stewart is opening up about her sexuality.

The 30-year-old Twilight star got candid in an interview with Instyle for the November 2020 issue.

Here’s what she had to say…

On representing what she stands for:
“The first couple of times I played queer characters, I was not [openly] queer yet. I’m drawn to stories and people for a reason, and I think, by default, I represent what I stand for. I do think it’s important that we step into different roles and into other people’s shoes in order to really expand ourselves, albeit not ever taking up space for people who should be telling their own stories.”

On the pressure of dating in the public eye: “The first time I ever dated a girl, I was immediately being asked if I was a lesbian. And it’s like, ‘God, I’m 21 years old.’ I felt like maybe there were things that have hurt people I’ve been with. Not because I felt ashamed of being openly gay but because I didn’t like giving myself to the public, in a way. It felt like such thievery. This was a period of time when I was sort of cagey. Even in my previous relationships, which were straight, we did everything we could to not be photographed doing things—things that would become not ours. So I think the added pressure of representing a group of people, of representing queerness, wasn’t something I understood then. Only now can I see it.”

On filming the Twilight franchise so young: “I was a kid. I definitely was never like, ‘OK, I’ve got this franchise on my back.’ If anything, that is an outsider’s perspective, which is one that I can share with you only now. Then, I had no idea.”

'Twilight' Author Has 2 More Books Planned in the Series

Two more “Twilight” books are in the works and planned out, according to the series’ author Stephenie Meyer.

“There are two more books I think in the world that I want to write. I have got them outlined and a chapter written I think of the first one, so I know it’s there. I am not ready to do that right now, I want to do something brand new. For me, a lot of the joy of writing comes from creating and I really want to do a new world and new rules and new mythology. Mythology is kind of my thing,” the 46-year-old author told USA Today, confirming perhaps she will work on a new book before finishing the 2 “Twilight” books.
