The 34-year-old Pretty Little Liars actress spoke with Women’s Health about the comments she received on social media and how she found strength after her pregnancy.

Shay Mitchell is opening up about her relationship with Matte Babel!
In a new interview, the 33-year-old actress shared some rare insight into her relationship with Matte, 40.
“It is a lot at times. And I think that too can go on ebbs and flows,” Shay shared with Us Weekly. “One minute I’m like, ‘You stay on this side of the bedroom, I’ll be on this side, do not cross this line.’ You know? And then other days I’m like, ‘Oh, this is awesome. I feel very grateful that I have you here to watch this Netflix show.’ You know what I mean? So it comes in ebbs and flows for sure.”
Shay and Matte started dating in 2017 and welcomed their first child, daughter Atlas, in October 2019.
During an interview last summer, Shay explained why she and Matte aren’t in a rush to get engaged.
Shay Mitchell revealed that she is in no rush to get engaged or married to her partner Matte Babel.
“A lot of people ask, it’s never been something I really cared for,” the 33-year-old actress told ET. “And I love weddings, love weddings. I can watch them all day long. I love attending, I love being a part of my friends’ [weddings], anybody’s to be quite honest. It’s just not something I care for for myself and it’s something that Matte and I have spoken about.”
“He’s been like, ‘You sure?’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah, we work so well right now.’ It’s great and this dynamic just works for us,” Shay added. “It may not always be the correct way but it works. That’s how I sort of have to go, you know, that’s how I do it.”

During the call, she spoke about how her boyfriend is handling fatherhood.
“He is the best! He’s the best dad. He’s so in love with her, and they just have such a special connection too, so it’s incredible. I see her every day having him wrapped around her finger more and more,” she gushed.
She also opened up about the idea of having another child together.
“We’ll see what happens. What’s meant to be will be. I’m just as curious and as excited as I think my mom is!” she explained.

“I think especially having a newborn, you’re going up and down with your emotions and dealing with all new things that I’ve never had to deal with before,” Shay told Us Weekly. “It’s all the unknown is what I call it. So having a good group of friends and people around you who have either been through it, or can just be an ear to listen to all of your thoughts, and stories of what’s been going on [is key]. But you know, I have a really, really good support team and so I’ve been really fortunate with that.”

Shay Mitchell keeps it super chic in a navy blue blazer while leaving Strahan, Sara & Keke in New York City on Wednesday afternoon (February 19).
The 32-year-old actress and new mom to Atlas actually confessed on the show that she broke hospital rules before giving birth.
“I was about to give birth and I had an epidural, which means you’re not allowed to eat,” Shay started to explain. “I snuck [in] snacks and didn’t tell anybody.”
She added, “They told me that you’re only allowed broth. I’m like ‘I’ve been here for 30 hours. Broth?’ Absolutely not. So, I had cheese, crackers and salami.”
Shay is also pictured in a soft blue sweater and pants heading out to a dinner event later in the night.
