It’s official – Firefly Lane is coming back!
On Wednesday (May 26), stars Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke announced that their hit Netflix series had been renewed for a second season.
The ladies shared the exciting news while answering questions from fans during a Zoom call.
“How long do I have to wait for season 2 of Firefly Lane?” Katherine read from a fan, before turning to Sarah and announcing the news.
“I don’t know if you’re getting this as much as I am, but anywhere I go, ‘Is there gonna be a season 2?’…You know, I’m just like, ‘Guys… yes!’” Katherine shared.
“There’s gonna be a season 2!” Sarah exclaimed. “We don’t have all the answers yet, but trust us, it is going to be worth the wait.”
In an interview from last month, Sarah opened up about what she hopes to see in season two of Firefly Lane, especially after that shocking season finale.

Sarah Chalke is dying for a season two of Firefly Lane just as much as we are!
On Thursday (April 22), the 44-year-od actress appeared on The Talk where she chatted about her hit Netflix series, which hasn’t officially been picked up for a second season yet.
While talking the hosts, Sarah shared some of her hopes for season two of Firefly Lane after season one’s cliffhanger ending.
In the final moments of the season finale, we find out that Sarah‘s character Kate is no longer speaking to her longtime best friend Tully (Katherine Heigl), though we don’t know why.
“We’ve got to find out what happened with Tully and Kate, like why are they not speaking, a friendship that was so unbreakable?” Sarah started. “Is Johnny [Ben Lawson] still alive? I hope we get to go, if we get to do it again, [go] into the 90′s, get some Doc Martens and some flannel going on.”
In another recent interview, another Firefly Lane star dished on the possibility of season two.
We’re keeping our fingers crossed that Netflix soon renews Firefly Lane for a second season!

Firefly Lane has been a huge hit for Netflix and while a second season hasn’t been ordered yet, Sarah Chalke is opening up about the possibility of more episodes.
The 44-year-old actress told Variety that even she doesn’t know yet if the second season will happen.
“From your mouth,” Sarah said while appearing on the Just for Variety with Marc Malkin podcast. “I’m so hopeful.”
In the final moments of the season finale, we find out that Sarah‘s character Kate is no longer speaking to her longtime best friend Tully (Katherine Heigl), though we don’t know why.
“I don’t know. I honestly don’t know,” Sarah said when asked what Tully did to Kate. “I don’t know what (show creator) Maggie Friedman will pick. We talked about it a bunch and we were like, ‘Well, it definitely cannot be that Tully slept with Johnny.’ It can’t be something like that. That’s something that we know we would never be able to have them get past.”
She added, “You so rarely see this incredible bond between two women in television. I love their authentic, flawed relationship that it’s not this glossy, everything is perfect. You see them really go at it and overcome huge things, but then there’s this one thing that they can’t.”
The book series revealed what happened between Tully and Kate.
SPOILER ALERT – Do not continue reading this post if you haven’t finished Firefly Lane, unless you don’t mind spoilers!
The new series Firefly Lane has been number one on Netflix since its debut a few days ago and the first season ends with a burning question: what happened with Tully and Kate, and why aren’t they friends any longer?
The show jumped around the timeline throughout the entire season and some scenes hinted that Tully (Katherine Heigl) and Kate (Sarah Chalke) aren’t friends in the future. We finally learned in the final moments of the season finale that Kate never wants to see Tully again.
“No one wants you here,” Kate told Tully at her dad’s funeral. “When I said I could never forgive you for what you did, what did you think that meant?”
So, what happened between them? We won’t find out until season two, but if you read the book, you already know what happened.

Firefly Lane is currently number one on the Netflix charts in the U.S. and everyone is talking about the new series, which stars Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke.
The series is based on the best-selling book, which was published in 2008, and tells “the sweeping story of two inseparable best friends and their enduring, complicated bond, spanning four tumultuous decades.”
The show goes back and forth throughout three different time periods to show Tully and Kate’s relationship throughout the years.
The timeline might confuse some viewers because the present day period does not take place in our current day and the show isn’t always super clear about the years.

During the panel discussion, the idea of the show’s reboot was brought up, but according to Bill, there are no plans in the works.
“I would do anything to get to work with not only this group [but the entire crew]…it was the best time in my life, Bill started, “[But] sometimes reboots — not all the time — feel like a money grab….If we ever do it, we’ll do it as a short little movie or something else.I think the problem from me is I would just want to see where everyone is.”
Scrubs ran on NBC from 2001 to 2008 with the final two seasons from 2008 to 2010 airing on ABC.
Guests enjoyed Heineken beers in between panel sessions at the Heineken Green Room.

Roseanne Barr and the cast of the Rosanne revival are celebrating the show’s long awaited premiere!
The 65-year-old actress stepped out for a panel discussion about the show on Monday night (March 26) at The Paley Center for Media in New York City.
She was also joined by her co-stars John Goodman, Michael Fishman, Lecy Goranson and Sarah Chalke.
During the discussion, Roseanne spilled on the previous attempts to revive the beloved show.
“We did talk about a reunion show a lot a really time ago. We wondered if we should do a clip show and I didn’t want to do a clip show. I said we would want to do some new, original sketches and they thought a clip show was better,” Roseanne explained.
Roseanne premieres on Tuesday, March 27th at 8 PM on ABC.
