Taika Waititi makes an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, airing Tuesday (February 11), and talks about his film Jojo Rabit – the Oscar winner for Best Adapted Screenplay.

The 44-year-old actor-writer-director and his 12-year-old Jojo Rabbit co-star Roman Griffin Davis talk about his Oscar speech and the decision to cast himself as Hitler.

“Fox Searchlight, who made the film, they said we only really want to make it if you played Hitler,” Taika tells Ellen. “It made no sense to me because look at me. Way too good looking to play Hitler.

Taika also shares he will be moving to Australia to work on the forthcoming Thor: Love and Thunder: “I’m gonna move to Australia and do another Thor movie with Chris Hemsworth.”

Roman Griffin Davis and Archie Yates are living their best lives on the red carpet at the 2020 Academy Awards on Sunday (February 9) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

The two Jojo Rabbit stars hammed it up on the red carpet, waving to fans and posing for pics together ahead of the award show.

Jojo Rabbit is up for six awards tonight, including Best Picture, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Adapted Screenplay.

For the second year in a row, the Oscars will be presented without a host. Joker leads the pack with 11 nominations and Grammy winner Billie Eilish is set to give a special performance. Tune in for the show at 8pm ET/5pm PT on ABC.

George MacKay and Dean-Charles Chapman presented the award for Best Adapted Screenplay to Taika for his work on the movie Jojo Rabbit!

Taika was also joined at the event by the film’s stars Roman Griffin Davis and Rebel Wilson. Also there was Scarlett Johansson, who was nominated for her work in the movie.

FYI: George is wearing Celine by Hedi Slimane. Rebel is wearing a custom Prabal Gurung gown and Rupert Sanderson shoes. Taika wore Wolf & Shepherd shoes.

Kaitlyn Dever and Jessie Buckley walk the red carpet at the 2020 EE British Academy Film Awards Nominees Party on Saturday (February 1) at Kensington Palace in London, England.

The actresses are both nominated for awards this year – Kaitlyn for the EE Rising Star Award and Jessie for Best Actress for her work in Wild Rose.

Jessie was nominated in the EE Rising Star Award category last year. More of this year’s nominees who attended the event included Jack Lowden, Kelvin Harrison Jr., and Michael Ward.

Other stars at the party included Charlie’s Angels‘ Ella Balinska, Star Wars‘ Naomi Ackie, and Jojo Rabbit‘s Roman Griffin Davis.

Taika Waititi parodies celeb couple pics with Alexander Skarsgard at the 2020 Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday (January 19) at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

The 44-year-old entertainer joined his co-stars Scarlett Johansson, Sam Rockwell, Alfie Allen and Roman Griffin Davis as they repped Jojo Rabbit at the show.

Jojo Rabbit was up for several honors during the night, including Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role and Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture.

Taika Waititi joins his young Jojo Rabbit co-stars Thomasin McKenzie and Roman Griffin Davis at the 2020 AFI Awards on Friday afternoon (January 3) in Los Angeles.

The three actors were joined by co-star Sam Rockwell at the annual event, where Jojo Rabbit was recognized as one of the Top 10 Movies of the Year.

Sam was also honored for his work in Richard Jewell, which also made the list.

Taika not only stars in Jojo Rabbit, he also wrote and directed the movie. The film has two Golden Globe nominations, including Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.
