Liev Schreiber Begins Filming 'Ray Donovan' Movie in Boston!

Production for the Ray Donovan movie is officially underway!

Liev Schreiber began filming scenes for his upcoming movie on Wednesday afternoon (July 7) in Boston, Mass.

For his day of filming, the 53-year-old actor looked handsome in a black suit and white dress suit as he walked around the city filming scenes.

Earlier that day, Liev took to Instagram to celebrate his first day of filming.

“Took us 8 years but we’re here! So happy that we get to finish where it all started. Big up to Boston!!! @raydonovan #southie #finishwhereyoustart,” Liev wrote along with the below post.

Jon Voight and Kerris Dorsey will also be reprising in their roles in the movie, with Liev co-writing the script with series showrunner David Hollander, who will be serving as director.

The Ray Donovan movie will continue the story where it left off, with Mickey (Voight) in the wind and Ray (Schreiber) determined to find and stop him before he can cause any more carnage. It will also weave together the present-day fallout from the Donovan/Sullivan feud with Ray and Mickey’s origin story from 30 years ago.

Ray Donovan aired on Showtime from 2013 to 2020.

'Ray Donovan' Fans Are Really Excited About The Series Getting a Feature Movie

The news was announced today that Ray Donovan will be back with a feature film, and fans can’t hold back their excitement on social media.

Showtime revealed that the movie will pick up right where it left off when the show was abruptly cancelled last year.

Stars Liev Schreiber, Jon Voight and Kerris Dorsey will all return in their roles, with Liev also co-writing the script with series showrunner David Hollander.

David will also be directing the pic.

The Ray Donovan movie will continue the story where it left off, with Mickey (Voight) in the wind and Ray determined to find and stop him before he can cause any more carnage. It will also weave together the present-day fallout from the Donovan/Sullivan feud with Ray and Mickey’s origin story from 30 years ago.

Production is expected to start up on the movie later this year in New York. Liev previously told fans not to lose hope about a continuation of the series in the future last year.

Liev Schreiber Gives Hope To 'Ray Donovan' Fans About Show After It's Sudden Cancellation

Ray Donovan fans, you may want to stop and read this – Liev Schreiber is hinting that season eight could still be happening.

The 52-year-old actor took to Instagram tonight to tell fans that their voiced have been heard regarding the sudden cancellation of the Showtime show.

“It’s hard to describe how amazing it feels to those of us in the Ray Donovan family who have been lucky enough to experience the overwhelming love and support that you all have expressed for our show since the news broke that Ray would not return,” he wrote.

Liev added, “What’s even more incredible is that it seems your voices have been heard. Too soon to say how or when, but with a little luck and your continued support, there will be more Ray Donovan. So to all the Donofans who got their bats out and beat the odds. Thank you.”

Showtime hasn’t commented on the possibility that Ray Donovan is returning. Based on Liev‘s note, we might be looking at a final season situation.

The network announced just last week that the series wouldn’t be back for a season eight.

'Ray Donovan' Canceled, Will Not Get a Season 8

Ray Donovan has come to an end.

The Liev Schreiber-starring series, which ran for seven seasons on Showtime, has wrapped up with its Season 7 finale in January, the network confirmed on Tuesday (February 4).

“After seven incredible seasons, Ray Donovan has concluded its run on Showtime. We are proud that the series ended amid such strong viewership and on such a powerful note. Our deepest thanks go to Liev Schreiber, Jon Voight, showrunner David Hollander and the entire cast and crew, past and present, for their dedicated work,” the network said in a statement.

Liev thanked fans for their support back in January after the Season 7 finale, and urged them to reach out to Showtime for an eighth season.

“Either way it’s been an amazing ride and we have all of you to thank for it,” he said at the time.

Ray Donovan was nominated for multiple Emmys and Golden Globes during its run.

'Ray Donovan' Renewed for Season 7!

Showtime has announced that Ray Donovan will return for a seventh season on Showtime!

The show is currently airing its sixth season, which will wrap up with the season finale on January 13. Production on the Liev Schreiber and Jon Voight-starrer will begin in the Spring of 2019 in New York.

As for season six, here’s a quick synopsis: Ray’s journey in New York has been fueled by his subconscious need for help. After his life was saved by a Staten Island cop named Mac (Domenick Lombardozzi), Ray must navigate the complicated debts and emotions that grew out of that relationship while also trying to save the mayoral campaign of Anita Novak (Lola Glaudini), the favored candidate of Sam Winslow (Susan Sarandon). On the family front, Mickey (Voight) is on a mission to hunt down Ray to seek revenge and Ray struggles to cope after Bridget (Kerris Dorsey) tells him that she must break away from her father and the havoc his life has brought.

'Ray Donovan' Actor Pooch Hall Charged With DUI & Child Abuse

Marion “Pooch” Hall has been charged with DUI and felony child abuse following his arrest earlier in the month.

The 41-year-old actor, who plays Daryll on Ray Donovan, was arrested after a witness saw him driving with his 2-year-old toddler in his lap holding the steering wheel, according to TMZ.

Pooch blew a .25, more than three times the legal limit after hitting a parked car. The child was also not strapped into a car seat, but luckily, there were no injuries.

He will now face a maximum of six years and six months in prison. His son is now under the custody of his wife, along with their other kids.

Liev Schreiber and Jon Voight are celebrating the latest season of their hit show!

The actors were both in attendance at the Season 6 Premiere of Ray Donovan during the 2018 Tribeca TV Festival at Spring Studios on Sunday (September 23) in New York City.

The two playfully duked it out on the red carpet.

In the new season, Ray (Schreiber) is “rebuilding his life both personally and professionally in New York City. After being rescued from a plummet into the East River, his savior, a cop named Mac (Domenick Lombardozzi), brings Ray into the fraternity that is the Staten Island Police Department. While exploring this new world of brotherhood and corruption, Ray finds himself once again working for media mogul Sam Winslow (Susan Sarandon). Sam has teamed up with New York City mayoral candidate Anita Novak (Lola Glaudini), a partnership that puts Ray at odds with his new friends out in Staten Island.”
