'Brave New World' is Cancelled by Peacock After One Season

Brave New World has been cancelled by Peacock.

The new streaming site announced on Wednesday (October 28) that they would not be renewing the show for a second season.

“There will not be Season 2 of Brave New World on Peacock,” Peacock said in a statement to Deadline. “[Showrunner] David Wiener created a thought-provoking and cinematic adaptation. We’re grateful to the cast and crew who brought this world to life. We look forward to telling more stories with David in the future.”

Based on the groundbreaking novel by Aldous Huxley, Brave New World imagines a utopian society that has achieved peace and stability through the prohibition of monogamy, privacy, money, family, and history itself. As citizens of New London, Bernard Marx (Harry Lloyd) and Lenina Crowne (Jessica Brown Findlay) embark on a vacation to the Savage Lands, where they become embroiled in a harrowing and violent rebellion. Bernard and Lenina are rescued by John the Savage (Alden Ehrenreich), who escapes with them back to New London. John’s arrival in the New World soon threatens to disrupt its utopian harmony, leaving Bernard and Lenina to grapple with the repercussions.

The show also starred Demi Moore, Kylie Bunbury, Hannah John-Kamen, Sen Mitsuji, Joseph Morgan, and Nina Sosanya.

According to reports, Brave New World is being shopped around to different outlets.

NBC's Peacock Announces 'Saved By The Bell' Premiere Date

Peacock has just given their new Saved By The Bell series a premiere date!

The series, which brings back Elizabeth Berkley Lauren as Jessie Spano and Mario Lopez as AC Slater, focuses on Bayside High School once again.

Saved By The Bell will debut on Peacock, NBC’s streaming service, on Wednesday, November 25.

Here’s the official summary: When California governor Zack Morris gets into hot water for closing too many underfunded high schools, he proposes they send the affected students to the most well-funded schools in the state – including Bayside High.

The influx of new students gives the privileged Bayside kids (who never have a problem that can’t be solved in twenty-two minutes) a much-needed dose of reality.

Josie Totah, Belmont Cameli, Dexter Darden, Mitchell Hoog, Alycia Pascual-Pena, and Haskiri Velazquez also star in the new series.

Peacock Will Finally Be on Roku After Deal Reached with NBCUniversal

Good news for Roku users – Peacock will finally be available on the platform!

The new streaming service launched to the general public on July 15, but it has been missing from Roku for the past two months as the company could not reach a deal with NBCUniversal.

New reports this week said that NBCU was planning on pulling all of its apps from Roku due to their disagreement. But now, a distribution deal has been reached that will keep NBCU apps on Roku and finally bring Peacock to its users.

“We are pleased to have reached an agreement with Comcast that will bring Peacock to Roku customers and maintains access to NBCU’s TV Everywhere apps,” Roku said in a statement (via THR). “We look forward to offering these new options to consumers under an expanded, mutually beneficial relationship between our companies that includes adding NBC content to The Roku Channel and a meaningful partnership around advertising.”

Earlier this month, the founder of Roku explained why HBO Max and Peacock were still not being offered to users.

Roku Founder Explains Why HBO Max & Peacock Are Still Not Offered

Anthony Wood, the founder and CEO of Roku, is opening up about what the new streaming services HBO Max and Peacock are still not being offered on the platform.

HBO Max launched on May 27 and Peacock launched to the general public on July 15, but you can’t stream them on a Roku still.

“Our platform is open to these services on very reasonable terms,” Anthony told Variety. “All of their main competitors are available on the Roku platform. Fair and reasonable content distribution deals are how we finance the low-cost easy-to-use Roku platform that consumers use to access these services on their TVs.”

The Variety report says that Roku’s “standard ask is 20% of subscription fees and 30% of ad inventory on partner channels.”

WarnerMedia reportedly wants to remove the standalone HBO service from The Roku Channel and have HBO Max as the only option available, which Roku does not support. Peacock only has 5 minutes or less of advertising per hour, so they don’t accept the ad split terms.

'Clueless' TV Series About Dionne in the Works at Peacock

Peacock is developing a new TV series that will revolve around the character Dionne from the beloved movie Clueless.

The movie version of Clueless premiered back in 1995 and a television adaptation followed one year later. Stacey Dash played the role of Dionne in both projects.

Variety reports that the upcoming series is “described a baby pink and bisexual blue-tinted, tiny sun-glasses wearing, oat milk latte and Adderall-fueled look at what happens when queen bee Cher disappears and her lifelong number two Dionne steps into Cher’s vacant Air Jordans. How does Dionne deal with the pressures of being the new most popular girl in school, while also unraveling the mystery of what happened to her best friend?”

These days, Stacey is associated with her controversial political views and last year she was arrested.

Will Forte will officially be reprising his role as MacGruber in an upcoming series for the streaming service Peacock!

Will is set to write and executive produce the series with John Solomon and Jorma Taccone, who were his co-writers on the movie. Jorma will also direct the half-hour series.

Variety reports that the series will “begin with the main character, described as America’s ultimate hero and uber patriot, being released from prison after rotting in there for over a decade. His new mission will be to take down a mysterious villain from his past—Brigadier Commander Enos Queeth. With the entire world in the crosshairs, MacGruber must race against time to defeat the forces of evil, only to find that evil may be lurking within.”
