The series, based on Mercury 7 astronauts, is the first scripted series to be cancelled by Disney+, according to Deadline.

Produced by Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way, The Right Stuff starred Patrick J. Adams, Jake McDorman, Colin O’Donoghue, Aaron Staton, James Lafferty, Micah Stock, and Michael Trotter.

The show centered on the Mercury 7 who were America’s first test pilots for the rockets headed to space.

Meghan Markle's 'Suits' Co-Star Patrick J. Adams Defends Her Ahead of Oprah Winfrey Interview

Meghan Markle‘s getting support from a former co-star.

Suits star Patrick J. Adams spoke out on Twitter on Friday (March 5) ahead of the royal’s highly anticipated Oprah Winfrey interview alongside Prince Harry, in which she speaks out about the Palace allegedly perpetuating falsehoods about the couple.

Meghan Markle and I spent the better part of a decade working together on Suits. From day one she was an enthusiastic, kind, cooperative, giving, joyful and supportive member of our television family. She remained that person and colleague as fame, prestige and power accrued,” he wrote.

“She has always been a powerful woman with a deep sense of morality and a fierce work ethic and has never been afraid to speak up, be heard and defend herself and those she holds dear. Like the rest of the world, I have watched her navigate the last few years in astonishment.”

“She fell in love, moved to a new country, became a household name across the entire globe and began the difficult work of trying to find her place in a family dynamic that can at best be described as complicated and at worst, seemingly archaic and toxic,” he continued.

“It sickened me to read the endless racist, slanderous, clickbaiting vitriol spewed in her direction from all manner of media across the UK and the world but I also knew that Meghan was stronger than people realized or understood and they would regret underestimating her.”

“And then they welcomed Archie. And on any sort of decent planet that would be a time to stop sharpening the knives and let these two people enjoy the magical early months and years of starting a family. But we don’t live on that planet and instead the hunt continued,” he went on to write.

“It’s OBSCENE that the Royal Family, who’s newest member is currently GROWING INSIDE OF HER, is promoting and amplifying accusations of ‘bullying’ against a woman who herself was basically forced to flea the UK in order protect her family and her own mental health.”

“IMO, this newest chapter and it’s timing is just another stunning example of the shamelessness of a institution that has outlived its relevance, is way overdrawn on credibility and apparently bankrupt of decency,” he concluded.

“Find someone else to admonish, berate and torment. My friend Meghan is way out of your league.”

Patrick J. Adams, Jake McDorman & James Lafferty Mask Up For 'The Right Stuff' Premiere

Patrick J. Adams, Jake McDorman and James Lafferty all step out for the premiere of their new Disney+ series, The Right Stuff, held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif., on Monday (October 5).

The three actors masked up for the event, where they were joined by their co-stars Eloise Mumford, Shannon Lucio, Nora Zehetner, Micah Stock, and Patrick Fischler.

In a recent interview, Patrick opened up about how he almost wrote to Annie Glenn while he was researching to play her husband, John Glenn, in the groundbreaking series. But, he didn’t.

“I wrote, like, about six different letters on my computer but every time it came down to send one I thought, ‘I think it’s best to just leave Annie Glenn,’ to have what ended up being her final year in peace,” he shared with ET Canada. “So I hope we did it justice and I hope somewhere they are looking down and that she looks positively on it, but I thought it best to leave her be.”

Patrick also revealed that while he had hopes of going to space, being an astronaut wasn’t a real dream for him.

“I always dreamed of going to space, but certainly never felt like I had what it took. I didn’t have ‘the right stuff,’ so to speak, to get up there,” he said.

The Right Stuff premieres on Friday, October 9 on Disney+.

Patrick J. Adams Reveals the Reason He Hasn't Spoken to 'Suits' Co-Star Meghan Markle Recently

Patrick J. Adams revealed the reason he hasn’t spoken to Duchess Meghan Markle, his former longtime co-star on Suits for years.

“Quite frankly, I think I’m intimidated,” Patrick told Radio Times. “I have no doubt I could pick up the phone and call her at any moment, but I don’t know what I would say.”

He did say they spoke after their children were born. Patrick and his wife Troian Bellisario welcomed a daughter two years ago and Meghan and Prince Harry welcomed their son Archie in May of 2019.

“After our children were born, there were some texts sent and gifts sent, but I guess I’m a little scared,” he continued. “I think it’s pure fear. I guess I’m scared about the idea of breaking through whatever walls exist to have that conversation.”

Patrick just mentioned the Duchess in another capacity – find out what he’s thanking her for.

Patrick J. Adams has opened up about his friendship with Meghan Markle and where it stands today in a new interview.

The two starred together in USA’s Suits before she married Prince Harry and became the Duchess of Sussex. Patrick and his wife, Troian Bellisario, were just two of the guests at the royal wedding in 2018.

While promoting his Disney+ series, The Right Stuff, Patrick was asked if he had seen Meghan lately since she moved back to the United States.

“I think she’s pretty busy, but I am happy to have her back stateside,” he shared with Access Hollywood when asked if he had seen her lately.

Patrick added that he’s “very, very happy that she’s becoming very vocal and doing whatever she can to help the election in November.”

“I miss my friend, but I’m very happy she’s doing well. I don’t really have any regular contact.”

Just recently, Meghan and Harry spoke out about the importance of voting in the Time 100 Special.
