Shows That Got Cancelled After Just One Episode

Some shows get canceled after a few seasons. Some only last for a few weeks. And then, there are those that get yanked from broadcast after a single night’s airing.

In this golden era of television, there are dozens and dozens of critically hailed TV programs to choose from to suit your personal taste. But even when TV’s at it’s best, that doesn’t mean there have been some serious missteps along the way.

Whether the show didn’t land with audiences, or a scandal or tragedy resulted in an unexpected immediate withdrawal from the broadcasting schedule, we’ve rounded up the television shows that got pulled from air after just one episode. While some shows did eventually air the remainder of the episodes in the can, all of these shows were scrapped from the get-go for various reasons.

'Handmaid's Tale' Gets Another Trailer, Less Than One Month Until New Episodes Premiere - Watch Now!

The Handmaid’s Tale has a brand new trailer, less than one month from the season four premiere on Hulu!

In the upcoming fourth season of The Handmaid’s Tale, June (Elisabeth Moss) strikes back against Gilead as a fierce rebel leader, but the risks she takes bring unexpected and dangerous new challenges. Her quest for justice and revenge threatens to consume her and destroy her most cherished relationships.

Joseph Fiennes, Yvonne Strahovski, Samira Wiley, Alexis Bledel, Ann Dowd, Max Minghella, Madeline Brewer, O-T Fagbenle, Amanda Brugel, Bradley Whitford, and Sam Jaeger all co-star.

The new episodes will be available to stream on April 28, when three episodes will be uploaded. It has been well over a year since we last saw new episodes of the hit series!

'Handmaid's Tale' Actor O-T Fagbenle to Play Barack Obama in Showtime's 'The First Lady'

Showtime’s The First Lady has found its Barack Obama!

O-T Fagbenle actor will be playing the 44th president opposite Viola Davis as Michelle Obama in the upcoming series, Entertainment Tonight confirms.

The 41-year-old actor is best known for playing Luke Bankole in The Handmaid’s Tale. He also played Frank on HBO’s Looking and will be appearing in the upcoming Marvel movie Black Widow.

Showtime describes The First Lady, which will be directed and executive produced by Susanne Bier, as “a revelatory reframing of American leadership, told through the lens of the women at the heart of the White House.”

“In the East Wing of the White House, many of history’s most impactful and world-changing decisions have been hidden from view, made by America’s charismatic, complex and dynamic First Ladies,” Showtime says. “This series will peel back the curtain on the personal and political lives of three unique, enigmatic women, tracing their journeys to Washington through an enlightening intimacy.”

It has already been announced that Michelle Pfeiffer will be playing Betty Ford and Gillian Anderson will be playing Eleanor Roosebelt.

The First Lady cast also includes Aaron Eckhart, Judy Greer, Jayme Lawson, Kristine Froseth, and Rhys Wakefield.

'Handmaid's Tale' First Look at Season 4 Revealed!

Here’s your very first look at the footage that was filmed for Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale season four, before production was shut down due to the Coronavirus.

Elisabeth Moss, Joseph Fiennes, Yvonne Strahovski, Samira Wiley, Alexis Bledel, Ann Dowd, Max Minghella, Madeline Brewer, O-T Fagbenle, Amanda Brugel, Bradley Whitford, and Sam Jaeger are all returning for the show’s fourth season.

We recently found out that the show was supposed to air in the fall of 2020, but due to the lockdowns in place from COVID-19, the fourth season will now air sometime in 2021.

Meanwhile, fans of the show might be very excited by this news that was revealed last year.

Scarlett Johansson Introduces Star-Studded 'Black Widow' Cast at Marvel's Comic-Con Panel!

Scarlett Johansson is all smiles while announcing her Black Widow movie during Marvel’s panel at 2019 Comic-Con on Saturday (July 20) in San Diego, Calif.

The 34-year-old actress introduced the world to her co-stars – David Harbour as Alexei aka The Red Guardian, Florence Pugh as Yelena, O-T Fagbenle as Mason, and Rachel Weisz as Melina.

The film’s director Cate Shortland was also on hand!

Black Widow is going to be released on May 1, 2020 and it’s the first film in Marvel’s Phase Four to hit the big screen. See the FULL release slate now.
