The trio were also joined at the event by co-stars Nancy Garcia, Jorge Antonio Guerrero, Diego Cortina Autrey, Carlos Peralta and Fernando Grediaga, as well as the film’s producers Nicolas Celis, Gabriela Rodriguez and Sandino Saravia Vinay.

Roma, which is on the short list in the nominees for Best Foreign Film at the 2019 Oscars, chronicles a year in the life of a middle-class family in Mexico City in the early 1970s and its based partially on writer and director Alfonso‘s childhood.

The film was directed by Alfonso Cuaron and it’s getting a ton of awards buzz. While it won’t be released on Netflix until December 14, the film was released in limited theaters this past weekend.

The movie played in only three theaters in New York and Los Angeles and while Netflix isn’t reporting grosses for the screenings, sources tell THR that nearly all showings were sold out. The film grossed around $90,000 to $120,000 over opening weekend.

Roma is one of the most buzzed about movies of the years and its star Yalitza Aparicio is getting a ton of awards buzz!

The actress, who is making her big screen debut in the movie, walked the red carpet for a screening on Wednesday (November 21) at Cineteca National in Mexico City, Mexico.

Yalitza was joined at the event by her co-stars Marina De Tavira, Nancy Garcia, Fernando Grediaga, and Jorge Antonio Guerrero.

Roma is a story that chronicles a year in the life of a middle-class family in Mexico City in the early 1970s and its based partially on writer and director Alfonso Cuaron‘s childhood.

The movie is currently playing in limited theaters and it will be on Netflix on December 14.

Alexander Skarsgard and Joel Edgerton are showing their support!

The stars were in attendance at the premiere of Roma on Monday (September 10) at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival in Toronto, Canada.

The film was written and directed by Alfonso Cuarón, and stars Yalitza Aparicio, Nancy Garcia, Marina de Tavira, Marco Graf, Daniela Demesa, Enoc Leaño and Daniel Valtierra.

Roma is a semi-biographical take on the director’s upbringing in Mexico City, following the life of a middle class family and their live-in housekeeper.

Gael Garcia Bernal and Abbie Cornish also attended the premiere.
