Mark Hamill Quits Facebook Due to Political Ad Policy

Mark Hamill is done with Facebook.

The 68-year-old Star Wars actor recently took to Twitter to explain his decision to fans.

“So disappointed that #MarkZuckerberg values profit more than truthfulness that I’ve decided to delete my @Facebook account,” Mark Hamill wrote.

He added, “I know this is a big ‘Who Cares?’ for the world at large, but I’ll sleep better at night. #PatriotismOverProfits 🇲🇾>💰.”

“In the absence of regulation, Facebook and other companies are left to design their own policies,” Facebook’s director of product management, Rob Leathern, said in a blog post. “We have based ours on the principle that people should be able to hear from those who wish to lead them, warts and all, and that what they say should be scrutinized and debated in public.”

Mark Hamill Corrects 'SNL' Joke About 'Star Wars' Incest

There was a joke on Eddie Murphy‘s episode of Saturday Night Live during the Weekend Update segment, where Michael Che referenced Luke and Leia’s relationship.

Luke and Leia, in the Star Wars movies, didn’t realize they were related in the movies and their relationship was originally romantic in nature.

Michael‘s joke referenced the same-sex kiss in The Rise of Skywalker, and he added that kiss was “pretty tame considering the first movie had incest.”

Mark tweeted about the joke, “SNL Weekend Update- ‘The new #StarWars surprised fans by featuring a gay kiss-which seems pretty tame considering the 1st movie had incest’ WRONG! Since Luke & Leia were totally unaware that they were related in any way whatsoever-what they did [wasn't] actually #Innocestuous”
