Amber Heard’s Attorney Responds to Reports She’s Being Investigated for Perjury in Johnny Depp Case

Amber Heard is reacting to reports that the actress is being investigated for perjury by the Los Angeles Police Department in connection to her alleged abuse case against ex-husband Johnny Depp.

On Friday (May 28), the 35-year-old actress was granted a motion to dismiss the 57-year-old actor's defamation case against her for the third time by a Virginia judge. However, it was then reported that if she is found to have committed perjury during the court case, she would face legal repercussions in the form of sanctions or fines.

It was then reported that Amber was being investigated for allegedly staging injuries and a crime scene in connection to a May 21, 2016 incident that took place at the house Amber and Johnny shared in Los Angeles.

One of Amber's attorneys then reacted to the reports that Amber could face a maximum jail sentence of four years if she did perjury during the court case.

George Jung, Real-Life Drug Smuggler Johnny Depp Played in ‘Blow,’ Dies at 78

George Jung, the drug trafficker Johnny Depp played in the 2001 movie Blow, has sadly passed away.

George's passing was confirmed on his social media on Wednesday afternoon (May 5). He was 78-years-old.

"R.I.P. #georgejung Passed passed away this morning in his hometown of #weymouth #massachusetts #bostongeorge #the last #outlaw," the caption on his Instagram post read.

On his Twitter, his death was announced along with a quote from Blow, which recently turned 20-years-old.

"May the wind always be at your back and the sun upon your face, and the winds of destiny carry you aloft to dance with the stars," the tweet read. "1942-2021."

George was a major player in the United States cocaine trade back in the '70s-'80s, as part of the Pablo Escobar-founded MedellĂn Cartel.

He was arrested in 1994 and stayed in prison for 20 years before being released in 2014.

George's life story was turned into the movie Blow by late director Ted Demme, with Johnny playing a younger version of George navigating the drug smuggling world.

We have sadly lost all of these stars in 2021.

Mads Mikkelsen Won’t Be Playing ‘Fantastic Beasts’ Gellert Grindelwald The Same Way as Johnny Depp

Mads Mikkelsen is taking over the role of Gellert Grindelwald in the next Fantastic Beasts movie, replacing Johnny Depp, who played the iconic character for the past two films.

In a recent interview with Total Film, the 55-year-old Danish actor is revealing what the transition will be like and how he's making his Grindelwald different from Johnny's portrayal.

"This is obviously a more direct comparison because it's the next film," he shared with the magazine. "So we have done a few bridges that will allow us to recognize it, but we've also said we have to make it our own."

Mads added that mirroring Johnny's intensity in his own performance wasn't going to work.

"I have been a fan of Johnny Depp since I saw him as a young man, and to try to bring his intensity and his way of doing it into my work is a no-go," he said. "I have to find my own, because his is unique, and I just have to let that be, and find a different path."

This isn't the first time Mads has opened up about taking over the role. See what he said earlier this year...

Amber Heard’s Legal Team Seeks to Dismiss Johnny Depp’s $50 Million Defamation Lawsuit

Amber Heard is hoping that the $50 million defamation lawsuit filed against her by ex-husband Johnny Depp will be dismissed by the court.

Depp previously lost his legal battle in the UK, where he sued a newspaper for calling him a "wife beater."

Amber's lawyers filed a supplemental plea with the court, saying that the judgment in the UK proves that the statements made by the actress are true.

Johnny Depp Makes an Appearance in Spain as Lawyers Drop New Evidence in Amber Heard Case

Johnny Depp is currently in Spain to promote a movie and there's also some news about his case against ex-wife Amber Heard.

The 57-year-old actor was seen attending a photo call for his movie Minamata during the 2021 BCN Film Festival on Friday (April 16) at Casa Fuster Hotel in Barcelona, Spain.

Some big news in Johnny's legal fight with Amber was also revealed that day. His lawyers have released new police testimony and bodycam footage that they say proves Amber was lying about a fight she claims happened.

Amber has alleged that Johnny threw a phone at her face and trashed their kitchen during a fight in May 2016. Two sets of cops visited the apartment that night and the first set of cops gave new depositions in which they say they didn't see any injuries or evidence of a crime. The other set of cops had bodycams and there doesn't appear to be any damage to the apartment in the video.

Johnny's lawyer told Daily Mail, "Amber Heard and her friends described a chaotic, messy crime scene but the newly released LAPD bodycam videos unambiguously show that the penthouse was utterly undamaged and that their testimony was one more grandiose lie."

Last month, Amber dissed Johnny's lawyer on Twitter after her victory in court.
