“I tell her all the time how beautiful she is. I tell her all the time just all of these different things that I won’t embarrass her too much on television but when I came into her life honestly it was kind of shocking to meet her and she did not know, she did not know that she was as beautiful as she is,” her girlfriend said of Da Brat in the clip.

“She did not know how valuable her heart was. She did not know a lot of things and it was just shocking to me, that how could you be this person, how could you be a legend, how could you be so successful and have all these things going on and really not know?”

“To see her in this space of just comfort, it just allows me to know that… it’s almost back to the same space that she was in when I first met her. She feels she’s at this point, invincible and she can do whatever she wants to do again,” Jermaine says of his friend.

“This is the first time I have ever heard JD mention anything, ever, in my whole life about who I’m dating, what I’m doing, who I’m seeing. They reached out to him to comment when I came out, he turned them down, he wasn’t doing interviews, he really doesn’t interfere with my life. He lets me live and do whatever it is I need to do to make myself happy,” Da Brat says.

Usher & Forest Whitaker Share a Laugh at 'Burden' Atlanta Screening

Usher and Forest Whitaker have a moment at a screening of their film Burden!

The co-stars, ages 41 and 58, respectively, hit the red carpet at the event held at The Plaza Theatre on Monday (March 2) in Atlanta.

They were joined by their castmates including Crystal Fox, writer/director Andrew Heckler, and more.

Also in attendance were rappers T.I., Lil Yachty, and Jermaine Dupri, as well as Usher‘s mom Jonetta Patton.

Here’s the synopsis for Burden, currently in select theaters: “When a museum celebrating the Ku Klux Klan opens in a small South Carolina town, the idealistic Reverend Kennedy (Whitaker) resolves to do everything in his power to prevent long-simmering racial tensions from boiling over. But the members of Kennedy’s congregation are shocked to discover that his plan includes sheltering Mike Burden (Garrett Hedlund), a Klansman whose relationships with both a single-mother (Andrea Riseborough) and a high-school friend (Usher) force him to re-examine his long-held beliefs.”

It continues, “After Kennedy helps Mike leave behind his violent past, the Baptist preacher finds himself on a collision course with manipulative KKK leader Tom Griffin (Tom Wilkinson). In the face of grave threats to himself and his family, the resolute Kennedy bravely pursues a path toward peace, setting aside his own misgivings in the hopes of healing his wounded community.” Watch the trailer.

Cardi B Claps Back at Jermaine Dupri's 'Strippers Rapping' Comment

Cardi B is speaking out in response to a comment made by music producer Jermaine Dupri.

During a recent interview, Jermaine was asked to name his favorite female rapper right now and he couldn’t come up with an answer.

“I can’t really say. The only reason why I can’t say is because I feel they’re all rapping about the same things,” he told People TV. “I don’t think they’re showing us who’s the best rapper. I think they’re trying to show—for me, it’s like strippers rapping. And as far as rap goes, I’m not getting who’s the best rapper. I’m getting like, ‘OK, you got a story about you dancing in the club, you got a story about you dancing in the club, you got a story about you dancing in the club.’ It’s like, ‘OK, who’s going to be the rapper?’ At some point, somebody’s going to have to break out of that mold and just show us—talk about other things, just rap about other things besides that.”

Cardi took to Instagram to respond to the comment.

“I have seen a lot of people sayin’ ‘Nowadays, female rappers only talk about they pussy and shit. And now that Jermaine Dupri bring it up, now I’m gonna say something about it, right,” Cardi she said in the video. “First of all, I rap about my pussy because she’s my best friend, you know what I’m sayin’? And second of all, it seems like that’s what people wanna hear. I ain’t even gonna front, because let me tell you something: When I did ‘Be Careful,’ people was talking mad shit in the beginning, like, ‘What the f–k is this? This is not what I expected. I expected this, I expected that.’ So it’s like, if that’s what people ain’t tryna hear, then, alright, I’mma start rapping about my pussy again.”
