Charlie McDowell's Movie 'Windfall', Starring Fiancée Lily Collins, Heads To Netflix

Lily Collins‘ next project will be on Netflix!

It was revealed today that Windfall, which was directed by her fiancé, Charlie McDowell, has been acquired by the streaming service, “in a major 8-figure dollar deal.”

According to Deadline, the modern-day noir movie will also star Jason Segel and Jesse Plemons, and wrapped up production earlier this year.

Jason and Charlie developed the story, with Justin Lader and Andrew Kevin Walker penning the script.

The film is described as a Hitchcockian thriller following a young couple who arrive at their vacation home only to find it’s being robbed.

“I’m so excited to finally be able to talk about a film that I had the privilege of making a few months ago with @charliemcdowell #JasonSegel and #JessePlemmons,” Lily wrote on Instagram, following the announcement. “I’ve never been part of something so intimate, collaborative and freeing.”

She added, “Windfall was imagined, created, and finished during quarantine and I couldn’t be prouder of our incredible crew for all the countless hours of hard work, safety and determination to make this labor of love a reality.”

Jason Segel & Girlfriend Alexis Mixter Split After 8 Years Together - Read Her Emotional Post

Jason Segel and his longtime girlfriend Alexis Mixter have broken up after eight years together.

The news was announced by Alexis in an Instagram post on Thursday (April 29). She wrote an emotional post that showed the amount of love between them, as well as how that love will continue as a friendship moving forward.

“This is a photo of two best friends. This guy and I have shared so much life together. Changed each other at a soul deep level. All for the better,” Alexis began her post. “The depth of our bond was something I could never have anticipated. I’ve never spent so much time with another person, grown so much alongside someone else, laughed so much, cried so much, shared so much. It is odd to write about the end of a relationship, especially when the friendship that still exists is so full of life. But change happens and we made the decision quite a while ago to let ourselves grow away from what our relationship had been and into what it was becoming.”

“Announcing a breakup on social media is a strange feeling. Some won’t understand why it is necessary and that’s okay. Having a public romantic relationship is not easy,” she continued.

Jason Segel's Says His New Show 'Dispatches from Elsewhere' Is Like Magic As An Act Of Defiance!

Jason Segel wants to bring some magic into your life!

While making an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Wednesday (February 26), the 40-year-old writer-director-actor opened up about what inspired his new show, Dispatches from Elsewhere, which is set to premiere on March 1 at 10/9c on AMC.

“It’s a real thing that happened in San Fransisco in like the early 2000′s. I think we all have this feeling, especially right now, that there should be more or that we’re deserving of a happier feeling,” Jason explained. “This group of adults got together and instead of beating each other up over it they decided to make magic in the secrecy of night.”

Jason‘s upcoming drama is based on the true story of an underground network of artists operating in San Francisco, who were chronicled in the 2013 documentary The Institute — and to get things started, Segel had to reach out to the mysterious founder of the movement.

“It’s like magic as an act of defiance,” Jason continued. “It’s a show about saying that I’m refuse to accept this thing that’s coming at me, I’m going to make the world beautiful. It’s about love and community.”

This is Jason Segel‘s first new project since The Friend, which he premiered during the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival back in September.
