One of James Van Der Beek‘s daughters is on the mend after a little accident.

The 43-year-old Dawson’s Creek actor’s wife Kimberly took to her Instagram Story on Wednesday (February 24) to reveal that their daughter Emilia, 4, had to be rushed to the hospital after hitting her head on a table.

“Emilia hit her head on a table. Needed to be glued…” Kimberly, 38, wrote along with a photo of a medical professional looking at Emilia‘s head in the ER.

“Not terrible but not an air heal situation,” Kimberly wrote while sharing a close-up of Emilia‘s injury.

Kimberly added, “She breathed through it all and the doctors and nurses here have had a 💯 percent success rate with us of handling situations with fully informed decision offerings, friendliness and care.”

She also added that Emilia and her sibling “were scared and immediately comforted and commented out the door how ‘amazing’ they were.”

Emilia is one of five children for James and Kimberly, who are also parents to Olivia, 10, Joshua, 8½, Annabel, 7, and Gwendolyn, 2.

Last year, the Van Der Beek family decided to say goodbye to Los Angeles and made the move to this state!

Kimberly Van Der Beek has reflected on her two miscarriages during a recent Instagram Live.

The 38-year-old wife of James Van Der Beek opened up about suffering the miscarriages at just 17 weeks along, the first time late last year, and the following one just this spring.

“I was told I was gonna have the [first] miscarriage a few minutes before it happened; I was told I was gonna have to go to the hospital a few minutes before they had to make a decision,” she shared in her video.

Kimberly went on, revealing that she had buried both of her unborn sons in a “mama plant,” which is a passion-fruit vine that she had recently procured.

“So we have two fetuses in our mama plant, and we named them John and Zachariah,” she says. “And so John and Zachariah are buried in the mama plant, and I decided today to have an artist make some sort of wood structure that I’ll put the mama plant in the earth [underneath], and so she can grow up around it.”

Kimberly continued on, “The cool thing is I had this whole spiritual awakening that happened and the next day, mama plant had her first flower. It was really wild.”

The couple share five children together – Olivia, Joshua, Annabel, Emilia and Gwendolyn.

James and Kimberly just recently moved from Los Angeles to Texas and opened up about the reason why.

At the end of September, the 43-year-old Dawson’s Creek actor revealed that he, wife Kimberly, and their five kids – Olivia, 10, Joshua, 8, Annabel, 6, Emilia, 4, and Gwendolyn, 2 – were moving out of Los Angeles for a new “big adventure” in Texas.

In a new Instagram post, James is opening up about his family’s decision to move.

“And… we’ve landed. In the last ten months, we’ve had two late-term pregnancy losses, each of which put @vanderkimberly in the hospital, we spent Christmas break thinking she had a tumor (the doctor was wrong, thank god), I was prematurely booted off a reality dancing show I was favored to win in front of the whole world, and my mom died,” James wrote along with a few photos checking out the nature with his kids.

“And a shut-down,” James continued. “All of that led to some drastic changes in our lives, and dreams, and priorities… and landed us here. Overflowing with profound gratitude today.”

The Van Der Beek family is on the move!

James Van Der Beek took to Instagram on Saturday (September 30) to reveal that he, wife Kimberly, and their five kids are moving out of Los Angeles.

“Sometimes a fuller life begins with an empty house. Leaving Los Angeles incredibly grateful for all the friends and memories we’ve made here. Onto the next big adventure! ❤️” the 43-year-old Dawson’s Creek actor wrote.

Along with a post, James shared a cute photo of his kids – Olivia, 10, Joshua, 8, Annabel, 6, Emilia, 4, and Gwendolyn, 2 – kissing and saying goodbye to a tree on their property along with a few photos of their empty home.

On her own Instagram, Kimberly revealed that they are moving to Texas.

“Today we left our home in Beverly Hills to embark on a new adventure in Texas,” Kimberly wrote. “As we began our 10 day road trip we decided to adopt two new rescue pups from @wagmorpets to bring along and bond on this journey. Their names are Windsor (blue eyed gray one) and Able. Able means breath. And we need a lot of breath right now. Rocky and Skye bonded with them right away…!!! 🤗. We will document this trip in hopes that it can bring a smile to your face during such an uncertain time in the world. With love from our family to yours, thank you for your support on this journey. ✌️ Los Angeles. ‘Twas a good run.”

A new trailer that is getting so much buzz is the upcoming Hulu movie Bad Hair!

The film is a horror satire set in 1989 and it follows an ambitious young woman (Elle Lorraine) who gets a weave in order to succeed in the image-obsessed world of music television. However, her flourishing career comes at a great cost when she realizes that her new hair may have a mind of its own.

The star-studded cast also includes Vanessa Williams, Lena Waithe, Laverne Cox, Jay Pharoah, Kelly Rowland, Blair Underwood, James Van Der Beek, Yaani King Mondschein, and Usher.

Bad Hair was written and directed by Justin Simien, who previously wrote and directed the movie Dear White People and the TV series of the same name.

The movie will be released on Hulu on October 23.

James Van Der Beek took to Instagram on Monday (July 13) to announce that his mother Melinda sadly passed away last week at the age of 70.

The 43-year-old actor was a contestant on Dancing with the Stars last year and was very open about his mother’s influence on his love of dance.

“My mom crossed over last week. Even though we knew this was coming – and had actually thought we were at the end nearly a year and a half ago – I’m still in shock,” James wrote in his moving tribute. “I’m grateful she’s no longer in pain, I’m sad, I’m angry, I’m relieved… all at once and in different moments. Just trying to hold space and allow for it all.”

James continued, “To thousands of kids, she was ‘Miss Melinda,’ a gymnastics teacher with a big heart, a creative spirit and a mantra: ‘There’s no such word as can’t!’ To my kids, she was Grammy M… a magical grandma with a big laugh and a basement full of costumes and Christmas lights. And to me… she was my mom.”

“She gave me life. She taught me how to tumble. Drove me to my first auditions. She believed in me based on nothing but her own intuition and she passed on a craziness that has been crucial to not just my success, but my own personal happiness,” James wrote. “I don’t know what the grieving/healing process looks or feels like from here on out… all I know is anytime my kids – or any of her students – want to dress up, or get on a stage, or dance, or even just think of her… they’ll have a little extra love from the other side backing them up.”

Just last month, James and his family suffered another tragic loss.

James Van Der Beek has announced the devastating news that his wife Kimberly has suffered another miscarriage.

The couple previously went through a very public miscarriage in November 2019 while he was a contestant on Dancing With the Stars. This is her fifth miscarriage in nine years.

James and Kimberly decided not to be public about their pregnancy this time around, but sadly they lost the baby at 17 weeks into the pregnancy.

“After suffering a brutal, very public miscarriage last November, we were overjoyed to learn we were pregnant. This time, we kept the news to ourselves. But last weekend, once again, 17 weeks in… the soul we’d been excited to welcome into the world had lessons for our family that did not include joining us in a living physical body,” James wrote on Instagram.

“We rushed @vanderkimberly to the hospital by ambulance for another harrowing night of blood transfusions. And as I stood by, grateful for the good people who navigated the maze of regulations to save her life – but helpless to do much for the woman I loved other than massage her feet and try to keep her warm (with my #DWTS robe, ironically) – something kept running through my head, again and again, which I now feel compelled to share: We’ve got to take better care of each other,” he added.

“The world is in pain right now. There’s denial, shock, numbness, anger – all the old patterns we cling to when deep trauma is unearthed. And there are no words to ease that pain… to make the process hurt less or to solve it quickly. But the way out of it? Starts with an open, broken-hearted contemplation of this question: How can we take better care of each other?” James said. “And to all the families who have gone through this… you are not alone. 🌈.”
