J.J. Abrams, Bruce Timm & Matt Reeves to Helm 'Batman: Caped Crusader' at HBO Max

A new animated Batman series are coming to HBO Max and Cartoon Network!

Variety reports that the new show, Batman: Caped Crusader, will be produced by Batman: The Animated Series co-creator Bruce Timm alongside The Batman director Matt Reeves and J.J. Abrams.

Bruce Timm‘s Batman: The Animated Series ran from 1992-1995 for a total of 85 episodes and was one of the most critically lauded entries in the DC onscreen canon, garnering praise for its dark storytelling.

In a joint statement, the trio said, “The series will be thrilling, cinematic and evocative of Batman’s noir roots, while diving deeper into the psychology of these iconic characters. We cannot wait to share this new world.”

HBO Max just announced that another iconic superhero would be getting an animated series at the network.

Superman is getting a reboot!

The iconic superhero franchise is getting a new film, with critically hailed We Were Eight Years in Power: An American Tragedy novelist Ta-Nehisi Coates writing the script and J.J. Abrams producing, THR reported Friday (February 26).

“To be invited into the DC Extended Universe by Warner Bros., DC Films and Bad Robot is an honor. I look forward to meaningfully adding to the legacy of America’s most iconic mythic hero,” Ta-Nehisi said in a statement.

“There is a new, powerful and moving Superman story yet to be told. We couldn’t be more thrilled to be working with the brilliant Mr. Coates to help bring that story to the big screen, and we’re beyond thankful to the team at Warner Bros. for the opportunity,” said J.J. Abrams in his own statement.

Ta-Nehisi also worked on Captain America and Black Panther.

No casting news has been announced, although Henry Cavill previously voiced that he hoped to play Superman for “years.”

'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker' Cast Celebrate Launch of United Plane!

The cast of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker are taking it to the sky… literally!

The Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker cast and filmmakers posed in front of United Airlines’ Star Wars-themed Boeing 737-800 aircraft, created to celebrate the upcoming film-the conclusion of the Skywalker saga.

Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Keri Russell, Billy Dee Williams, Anthony Daniels, Kelly Marie Tran, Naomi Ackie, Richard E. Grant, Joonas Suotamo, Ian McDiarmid and writer-director J.J. Abrams and more were all in attendance to celebrate the launch of the plane.

United worked with Lucasfilm on the exciting exterior design, which features THE RESISTANCE on one side of the aircraft and the First Order on the other. Inside the plane, passengers will be treated to custom headrests embossed with emblems of the film’s dueling factions, THE RESISTANCE and the First Order. The special-edition Star Wars aircraft will operate for a limited time, and fans can track the plane with its tail number (N36272) on FlightAware, where it will display as a special Star Wars icon.

'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker' Cast Faces Off in 'Family Feud' on 'Kimmel'

Jimmy Kimmel celebrated the Los Angeles premiere of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker on Monday night (December 16) with a Star Wars-themed edition of Jimmy Kimmel Live!

The cast of Star Wars: The Rise of SkywalkerDaisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Billy Dee Williams, Anthony Daniels, Kelly Marie Tran, Naomi Ackie, Keri Russell and writer-director J.J. Abrams – joined Jimmy to play a few rounds of “Force Family Feud” in honor of the film’s upcoming release.

Daisy Ridley, John Boyega and the rest of the cast were divided into the “Walkerskys” and the “Vadersteins” and answered questions including “What’s the worst bodypart to have chopped off by a lightsaber?”; “Besides Yoda, name something else that starts with ‘Yo’”; and “Which Star Wars character would make the worst roommate?”

The cast also sat down for a lengthy interview with Kimmel to discuss the new film, which arrives in theaters this week, as well as what they stole from the movie’s set.

J.J. Abrams Reveals Whether Baby Yoda Appears in 'Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker'

Will we be seeing Baby Yoda in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker?

Director J.J. Abrams opened up about The Mandalorian‘s breakout star while speaking with Variety at the film’s premiere on Monday (December 16) in Los Angeles.

“Baby Yoda is not in the movie,” he said, though he called the character the “cutest thing in the history of time.”

“How can you deny Baby Yoda?” J.J. Abrams added. “You can’t.”

Daisy Ridley & Oscar Isaac Celebrate 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker' in Tokyo!

Daisy Ridley keeps it chic and sophisticated while striking a pose at the press conference for her anticipated film Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker held at Toho Cinemas Roppongi on Thursday (December 12) in Tokyo, Japan.

The 27-year-old actress was joined at the event by her co-stars Oscar Isaac, John Boyega and Anthony Daniels, as well as Star Wars characters R2-D2, BB-8 and D-O, producer Katherine Kennedy, screenwriter Chris Terrio and writer-director J.J. Abrams.

“I will only add that when I called Chris about doing this — and you were such a big Star Wars fan, which I had been told — I was such a fan of Chris’ screenplays, and Argo I thought was so beautifully written,” J.J. expressed about working with Chris on the screenplay. “I needed to have someone writing this with me who from the very beginning reminded me of how much Star Wars meant who hadn’t been in it in a way I had.”

“I said at the very beginning,” Abrams recalled, “‘you’re going to be with me this entire time, to the very end.’ And Chris being the humble man he is, made a self-deprecating joke about me not wanting him around by the end. We were together [in the trenches], kicking every tire, shaking every tree to make the story as good as we could and I can’t tell you how grateful I am for this gentleman’s partnership.”

Daisy Ridley Says 'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker' Feels Like The Right Time To Say Goodbye!

Daisy Ridley is gorgeous as she strikes a pose on the red carpet while attending the special fan event for her film Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker held at Roppongi Hills on (December 11) in Tokyo, Japan.

The 27-year-old actress was joined at the event by her co-stars Oscar Isaac, John Boyega and Anthony Daniels, as well as Star Wars characters R2-D2, C-3PO, BB-8 and D-O, producers Katherine Kennedy and Michelle Rejwan, and writer-director J.J. Abrams.

“It feels strange when we’re in a group doing things and people ask us how it feels because then you’re like [as if in pain] Oh! And we genuinely all really do get along. So that’s sad,” Daisy told Variety about her Star Wars saga ending. “But also, I think this story, from what we filmed, [screenwriter] Chris [Terrio] and J.J. have done such an amazing job at wrapping it up, it feels like the right time to say goodbye.”

“So even though it’s sad, it feels right,” Daisy continued. “But cut to Dec. 20 when we’re done, and I’m going to be like, ‘Take me back!’”
