'iCarly' Cast Teases Potential Romance Between Carly & Freddie in New Reboot

Miranda Cosgrove, Nathan Kress and Jerry Trainor are ready to reprise their roles on iCarly!

The trio shared some exciting details about the show’s revival in an interview with ET on Thursday (March 18).

Jerry hinted that the new revival featured “a lot of secrets.”

“I’ll say the scripts are really funny, but I don’t think anyone is expecting what we’re doing,” he explained. “I don’t think a revival has been done quite this way.”

Miranda, Nathan and Jerry were also asked about the potential romance between Carly and Freddie, who shared a goodbye kiss in the series finale.

“I have no idea, and even if I did know, I wouldn’t tell you,” Nathan joked. “We gotta keep things spicy for the folks at home. Right, Miranda?”

“Yeah, let’s keep things spicy,” Miranda agreed.

“Too juicy to say,” Jerry added.

Nathan also revealed details about how the character’s lives have changed since the series ended.

“I have a kid [on the show] now, so that changes the dynamic a little bit,” Nathan said.

Nathan‘s wife London is also pregnant with their second child and he joked, “Yeah in two weeks I’ll have two kids. So just kids everywhere.”

“I have no kids,” Jerry quipped, with Miranda, adding, “Me either.”

“Miranda, no kids. In the show, no kids,” Jerry said.

“It feels kind of crazy,” Miranda said. “We did the first table read about a week or so ago, and it was kind of insane — like, just getting everybody back together again, and it was really fun.”

iCarly originally aired on Nickelodeon from 2007 to 2012, and focused on a trio of best friends who created a webcast while grappling with everyday problems and adventures.

Jennette McCurdy Posts About New Project Amid 'iCarly' Revival News

Jennette McCurdy is promoting her new project – but it’s not what fans really want.

On Wednesday (December 9), it was announced that iCarly was being revived for a new show on Paramount+ with original cast members Miranda Cosgrove, Nathan Kress, and Jerry Trainor.

Fans were bummed to learn that Jennette‘s name wasn’t included in the announcement, especially since she played fan-favorite character Sam Puckett on the show for six seasons before it ended in November 2012. She then reprised the role for her own spinoff series Sam & Cat with Ariana Grande, which ran for 35 episodes before ending in July 2014.

After the iCarly revival announcement was made, Jennette, 28, took to her Instagram Story to share with fans an update about her podcast Empty Inside.

“Also a few big thank yous to everyone who helped out with season 1 of empty inside,” Jennette wrote, tagging three people. “you guys are amazing !!”

She added: “And an extra special thank you to all the empty inside listeners !! season 2 coming soon.”

As of right now, it’s unclear if Jennette McCurdy will be appearing – in any capacity – for the iCarly revival, which is set to air in 2021.
