J Balvin has opened up about the unique stage name he almost took in the latest episode of Hot Ones.
The 35-year-old Colombian singer revealed that a friend once told him he needed a “spicy” stage name for his music career.
The moment came as he was about to take his first bite of a pepper called the Scotch Bonnet, which was the name his friend suggested.
“Speaking of Scotch Bonnet, you know that was supposed to be my artist name? Yeah, that’s funny,” he mentioned before the bite. “When I was looking for my name, I had a friend, his name is Fat Al and he’s a rapper. And he was like, ‘You should have a spicy name like Scotch Bonnet.’”
He continued, “This was the first time I actually see what he was talking about. Now let’s taste it!” After his bite, he added, “Now, we’re on another level.”
The singer’s real name is José Álvaro Osorio Balvin.
In an interview released Thursday (January 29) to promote her new film The White Tiger and upcoming memoir Unfinished, Priyanka opened up about moving to Missouri from India, meeting Larry Bird and her craziest fashion moments – all while eating some incredibly spicy wings.
While the 38-year-old Quantico star had previously tried some of Hot Ones notoriously spicy sauces during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, she still struggled to make it through all ten wings.
She even told host Sean Evans that the “Da Bomb Insanity” sauce, which is famously one of the most challenging, looked “like poison.”
Priyanka eventually made it through the challenge and was crowned by Sean as Miss Hot Ones 2021. Check out the full video of Priyanka‘s interview inside!

“This is what I imagine it’s like to change form as a Pokemon,” she amusingly said at one point.
She also discussed the ongoing pandemic, and how it was affecting big studio decisions for production.
On the Season 11 finale of the show, Justin took on the spicy wing challenge with host Sean Evans, in which he talked about his essential Memphis dining experiences to the first time he heard the “Cry Me a River” beat.
He also talked about the iconic Saturday Night Live skit, “D–k in a Box,” as well as his first time meeting Marilyn Manson.
Later on, he ranked his own discography around the 25 minute mark – from debut Justified, to FutureSex/LoveSounds, to The 20/20 Experience, to Man of the Woods. You might be surprised at his ranking!

During his appearance, Pete discussed his ex, Ariana Grande.
“It’s really annoying ‘cause, like, I live in Staten Island and [people] come there now ‘cause, like, Ariana Grande made me all famous and stuff. It’s all her fault. It is!” he joked.
“She sent the wolves on me. She made me, created me — whatever they say.”
