Claire Foy & Paul Bettany Will Get Divorced In New 'Very British Scandal' Series

Things between Claire Foy and Paul Bettany are about to get ugly as they have both signed on to star in A Very British Scandal.

The two actors will star as the Duke and Duchess of Argyll in the limited series from Amazon Prime and BBC One.

Here’s a short summary of the series: Famed for her charisma, beauty and style, Margaret (Foy), Duchess of Argyll, dominated the front pages as a divorcee featuring accusations of forgery, theft, violence, drug-taking, secret recording, bribery and an explicit Polaroid picture all played out in the white-hot glare of the 1960s media.

The limited series will be presented in three 60-minute episodes that will investigate the role institutional misogyny played in how the duchess was shamed in society and vilified by the press and the judicial system.

“I’m so excited to work with [director] Anne [Sewitsky], Sarah [Phelps] and Paul on this extraordinary project,” Claire shared in a statement, via TV Line. “To explore through this story how often shame, judgment and controversy surrounds a woman’s sexuality.”

The casting comes just days after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex‘s explosive interview that pulled the veil back on the British monarchy.

Claire and Paul are the stars of two of the most popular streaming shows, The Crown and WandaVision!

Claire Foy Teams Up With Benedict Cumberbatch to Star & Produce 'Migrations' Movie Adaption

Claire Foy will be working with Benedict Cumberbatch on her next movie, based on the book “Migrations” by Charlotte McConaghy.

Both the 36-year-old Crown star and Benedict will produce the film, and Claire will also star in the adaption, The Hollywood Reporter announced.

The book is described as “both an intimate and epic story of a woman’s search for redemption in a world facing a slow death by climate change.”

The story centers on a woman named Franny Stone who is tracking what may be the final migration of Arctic terns. When she hustles her way onto a small vessel of misfit fishermen and embarks on an odyssey through stormy seas, her dark past of love, loss, crime and motherhood unfolds in a ode to the wild places in and around us, and the extreme lengths one will go to for the people they love.

“Charlotte has created an utterly unique and beautiful story with a compelling and fascinating woman at its heart,” Claire shared in a statement. “I couldn’t be more honoured or excited to help bring this truly remarkable novel to the screen.”

Just recently, it was announced that Claire will star with James McAvoy in a film that’s entirely improved. Get all the details here…

James McAvoy Will Improvise His Role in His Upcoming Movie 'My Son' With Claire Foy

James McAvoy is doing something really different with his role in thriller My Son.

An adaption of a French film, My Son centers on the story of a man, whose only son goes missing, and he travels to the town where his ex-wife lives in search of answers.

For James‘ role, he will be improvising most of his scenes, and will not be given a script or dialogue for it. His character will only be aware of basic aspects of his story, and will have to improvise and react to each moment as it unfolds.

For the rest of the cast, which includes Claire Foy as the ex-wife, they will aware of the scenes.

Christian Carion will direct the film, which begins production in early November in Scotland.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Christian to create My Son for worldwide audiences,” Adam Fogelson, chairman, STXfilms Motion Picture Group, said. “James will be doing the detective work of the film in real time, on camera, to create real tension for this thriller.”

He added, “We like to support bold and innovative storytelling like My Son, and Claire could not be a more spectacular or exciting choice for this film which is certain to thrill audiences.”

Just recently, James opened up about how he’s been turned away from certain roles because of this…
