Henry Golding, Saweetie & More Step Out For See Us Unite For Change Event

Henry Golding shows off his charming smile while arriving at the See Us Unite for Change – The Asian American Foundation (TAAF) in service of the AAPI Community Broadcast in Los Angeles on Friday (May 21).

The 34-year-old Snake Eyes actor was joined by Ken Jeong, James Hong and Minari star Alan S. Kim.

The event also featured performances from Saweetie and Black Eyed Peas.

The See Us Unite for Change global special is part of the See Us Unite cultural campaign, a multi-platform effort led by The Asian American Foundation (TAAF). It aims to accelerate impact and expand support for the AAPI community as hate and violence against its members continue to persist in the United States.

“Despite these difficult times for our community, the formation of TAAF and their bold work on the See Us Unite campaign represent the best of what can emerge when we share a collective resolve for change,” Daniel Dae Kim, co-chair of the TAAF Advisory Council, shared in a statement. “They’re both great signs for our future.”

The special will air on MTV, Comedy Central, VH1, as well as BET and Nickelodeon. It will also stream exclusively on Facebook Watch.

Fergie Is Trending Because People Just Realized She's Not an Original Black Eyed Peas Member

Fergie was a trending topic on Twitter on Saturday morning (January 2) and it’s because people were first finding out that she wasn’t an original member of the Black Eyed Peas!

While many people probably assume that Fergie was with the group since they started, she was actually a replacement for singer Kim Hill.

The group was formed in 1995 and Hill left while the second album was being produced in 2000. Fergie joined the group in 2002 and stayed with them until 2016. Vocals are now being performed by J. Rey Soul.

A clip from the Black Eyed Peas video for “What It Is” went viral on Twitter on New Year’s Day and people reacted to Hill being the vocalist in the video.

“i was today years old when i learned Fergie was a replacement,” one fan tweeted.

Another fan said “The Black Eyed Peas had a black lead singer before replacing her with Fergie. How am I just now learning this.”

The Black Eyed Peas Reveal Why Fergie Isn't With Them

When asked whether Fergie‘s heard the new album, will.i.am said: “She hasn’t heard it. She’s going to hear it when everybody else hears it. I hope she likes it. We try to keep in touch. We reach out every once in a while and say our hellos and happy birthdays and Merry Christmas and Happy Easter.”

“She knows where we’re at! We’re at the studio. And we love her, and she’s focusing on being a mom. That’s a hard job, and that’s what she really wants to do and we’re here for her, and she knows how to contact us for a retreat or a breakaway. It’s really the way Fergie designed it, so we’re respecting her design. We love Fergie, and we don’t want anything but awesomeness for her,” he continued.

Fergie is our sister. So even with these small connections, she’s always going to be our sister. But unfortunately our schedule is displaced by [her] wanting to be a great mom, and she wants to focus on that. And like Will said, we support her 100%,” added Apl.de.ap.
