Katherine Kaling is about to get a big surprise for Christmas this year.

The three-year-old daughter of Mindy Kaling is getting a personal visit from Santa Claus this year, thanks to her godfather, and Mindy‘s BFF and The Office co-star, B.J. Novak.

Mindy opened up about the plan in a video interview with designer Tory Burch.

“When you have your own kids, you can kind of make stuff up and then just decide that you’re going to do that every single year,” Mindy explained.

She continued, revealing that B.J. will be donning a red suit for Kit‘s surprise.

“This is the whole ruse that we’re going to do, and this might become a tradition,” she says. “Her godfather is B.J. Novak, and he is going to show up and go to our living room, where the tree is, in a Santa costume. Just so you know, we’re Hindu and B.J. is Jewish, so this is, like, cultural appropriation on our part.”

B.J. Novak‘s comment on Mindy Kaling‘s Instagram post will have you go “aww”!

On Wednesday (October 21), the 41-year-old The Mindy Project actress took to her account to take part in the viral “How It Started” meme challenge.

Mindy took part in the challenge by sharing pictures of “How it started” during the early days on set of The Office versus “How it’s going” with a pic of herself looking stunning in a yellow Dolce & Gabbana dress from the 2020 Oscars.

“So yeah, it’s going pretty well. How about you?” Mindy captioned the post.

B.J., also 41, then took to the comments to react in the sweetest way ever, writing, “I like both.”

If you didn’t know, Mindy and B.J. dated on and off for a few years while working on The Office before splitting up for good in 2007. Despite breaking up, the two have remained super close over the years, and B.J. spends a lot of time art her house hanging out with her daughter Katherine, 2.

On the latest episode of his YouTube series Some Good News, John and reunited with his The Office co-stars to surprise a newly married couple, who held their wedding virtually with John serving the officiant.

The Office stars making an appearance during the show included Steve Carell, Jenna Fischer, Mindy Kaling, BJ Novak, Rainn Wilson, Angela Kinsey, Kate Flannery, Brian Baumgartner, Ed Helms, Phyllis Smith, Oscar Nunez, and Creed Bratton.

The group then recreated the epic dance scene from Jim (Krasinski) and Pam’s (Fischer) wedding, where they danced to “Forever” by Chris Brown from their homes.

BJ Novak is launching a series!

The 40-year-old The Office alum scored a series order for an upcoming half-hour anthology series at FX, Variety reported on Wednesday (May 6).

“Thrilled, excited, humbled — these are the words in every press release, and I can’t believe how much I actually mean them. This is my dream show, and FX is the dream place to make it. When I brought it to FX, I wondered if it went too far, and they told me, you can go further. I can’t wait to get started,” he said in a statement.

The series is described as “using the issues of our times as a jumping off point to tell character-driven stories about the world we live in today.” Two episodes have already been filmed, and each episode features a new cast.

Episode one stars Lucas Hedges, Kaitlyn Dever, O’Shea Jackson Jr., George Wallace, Ed Asner and Brendan Francis Scannell, among others.

The second episode stars Jon Bernthal, Boyd Holbrook, Amy Landecker, Beau Bridges and more.

BJ made headlines earlier in the year for his exchange with this The Office co-star!

Former The Office co-stars and one of the Internet’s favorite couples Mindy Kaling and BJ Novak attended the 2020 Vanity Fair Oscars party together this past weekend.

They stopped by one of the party’s portrait sessions in the party to take posed pics together, and Mindy posted one of them on her Instagram account.

She captioned the photo, “Thanks to to my friends @markseliger for this beautiful portrait, and @radhikajones for throwing the @vanityfair party where I can see Leo but also eat In-N-Out.”

Well, BJ took to the comments to leave a super sweet comment and everyone is LOVING it!

The Office star BJ Novak will be writing, directing, and executive producing a new pilot for FX Networks and a star-studded cast is attached!

Platform is an “anthological series that uses the boldest issues of our times as a jumping-off point to tell singular, character-driven stories about the world we live in today,” according to Deadline.

It sounds like each story will be contained in each half-hour episode. Two episodes are being filmed and one is a dramatic one while the other is more comedic.

Kaitlyn Dever, Jon Bernthal, Lucas Hedges, Boyd Holbrook, O’Shea Jackson Jr., George Wallace and Ed Asner are among the actors starring in the pilot.

BJ served creative roles on both The Office and The Mindy Project, in addition to his acting commitments.
