Eva took to Instagram that day to pay tribute to Kendrick Castillo, the student killed in the STEM School Highlands Ranch shooting who is being hailed a hero for rushing at the shooter.

“God bless this child and his family. I also wish he didn’t have to be a hero. We failed him, our policies on gun control have failed him, and now he’s gone. Something has to change so that our children can feel safe in schools and not have to jump in front of a gunman to save his classmates,” Eva wrote.

Zoe Saldana happily strikes a pose alongside her hubby Marco Perego while attending the Eva Longoria Foundation Dinner Gala held on Thursday (November 8) at the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills.

The 43-year-old Guardians of the Galaxy star was joined at the event by Eva Longoria and her husband Jose Baston, Gina Rodriguez and her fiancé Joe LoCicero, Rosario Dawson, Miguel and his love Nazanin Mandi, Isabella Gomez and Guillermo Diaz.

“It was the worst experience literally to date as an actor in my life,” Gina said (via EW). “It’s almost as though Brett’s beautiful talent and his heart – he helped sacrifice for the bigger journey of Jane. It really is beautiful to see somebody go through this transformation, as we do as human beings, where we go from being kind of naive and so in love with this romance and this idea that nothing bad in life happens if you just play it by the book. One plus one equals two. And that’s not the way life works, and that’s not a bad thing either.”
