Alan Ritchson Shows Off Ripped Body Ahead of 'Jack Reacher' Filming

Alan Ritchson is showing fans his buff body while he trains for the upcoming series Jack Reacher, in which he will play the title character.

The 37-year-old actor Titans actor will be stepping into the shoes once filled by Tom Cruise for the film franchise.

Alan shared a shirtless photo on Instagram and said, “I get asked daily about my workout regimen. I don’t have time to answer the workout related questions I get. But I know it’s on a lot of people’s minds. So I think it’s time I let you in on what I’ve discovered. Ready for the secret? Here it is: ⁣I don’t have a secret.”

“I’ve got my own bodily goals and aspirations – things I’d like to achieve. I’m not there yet. Everybody is different in this way and every body responds differently to exercise and diet. But there is one universal truth when it comes to reaching your physical goals. Whether it’s losing weight or adding muscle, one principle remains the same…⁣ There is no substitute for hard work; no powders, no goos, no fancy shoes will get you where you want to go without it,” Alan said. “If you want to lose weight or lean out – put out more than you take in and make your heart beat harder than it did yesterday. It’s that simple. Doesn’t matter how you get there.”

“If you’re trying to bulk or add strength, put more strain on your muscles than you did yesterday. It doesn’t matter how you get there,” he said. “It’s my suspicion that most people ask for ‘the secret’ because ‘not having it’ gives them an excuse to wait. But what you need, you all already have. It’s not sold in stores. The only way to get it is to start doing it. Work.”

'Titans' Star Alan Ritchson Bares Ripped Body Along with Empowering Message About Getting Healthy

Alan Ritchson is showing off his ripped physique while also sharing an empowering message about getting healthy.

The 35-year-old Titans actor, who is also known for roles on Smallville and Blue Mountain State, went shirtless in a new mirror selfie that he posted on Instagram.

“Getting healthy again. The outside of the body is just one of several mirrors our inner life has to rely on. Hard to have a healthy body without a healthy mind. Last year was a struggle for me,” Alan wrote in the caption.

“Most of my energy went into surviving. Into regaining (or gaining) a sense of self, of worth, of purpose. Strangely, my difficulty started after getting everything I thought I wanted. I wasn’t happy. What do I do next? More of that rat race again… and again… and again? That can’t be,” Alan continued. “Getting everything you want when it aligns with the material world is a special kind of hell. Realizing this is a gift. Reorienting yourself out of that pit, I discovered, is impossible alone. I wasn’t strong enough. No one is. Pulling yourself out of it requires a patient, empathetic and forgiving community around you (in my case a wife @catritchson and friends I don’t deserve). Patience, love and forgiveness for yourself. But most of all a supernatural strength. The greatest magic of all. “⁣

“I’m excited for what’s ahead and grateful for what is no longer serving me (us). If you’re feeling down, up, depressed or manic and want off the rollercoaster. If you want to feel solid ground beneath you, I’ll be sharing some tools that have helped me in the hopes it can help you too,” Alan added. “If you have any tips, tools or techniques that might help someone I encourage you to leave them in the comments! We weren’t made to survive but to thrive. A broad recipe we can start with includes: a healthy diet and exercise (body/mind), no drugs or alcohol (clarity – when the fog clears it’s easier to see what’s really going on inside), routine (eg sleep hygiene), meditation (stillness brings awareness and awareness consumes ego, ego consumes the spirit… our true self is higher up the food chain. Don’t let a lamb eat you – a lion).”

The third season of Titans will premiere on the DC Comics streaming service in 2020.
