Britney Spears' New Lawyer Gives Update After Court Hearing on Monday

The new lawyer hired by Britney Spears is speaking out with an update on her conservatorship case.

Mathew Rosengart spoke to reporters outside a courthouse in Los Angeles following a hearing on Monday (July 19).

Britney had a win in her case last week when she was given permission to hire the new lawyer.

Mathew told reporters, “As I said in court last week and outside, my firm and I are moving aggressively and expeditiously to file a petition to remove Jamie Spears unless he resigns first,” according to E! News.

He continued, “I once again want to thank Britney Spears for her courage and for her strength. I want to thank Judge [Brenda] Penny for her courtesy in welcoming my firm and I into this case. And I also want to thank Britney Spears‘ fans and supporters. The outreach and support for my firm, myself and most importantly Britney has truly been overwhelming from coast to coast and literally throughout the world.”

Reporters asked Mathew if he’s close to removing Jamie from the conservatorship and he said, “We’re working very hard on the documents.”

Britney not so subtly shaded her sister for a second time on Instagram this weekend.
