Angelman Syndrome is a genetic disorder that causes developmental delays and affects the nervous system. The conservatorship will allow them to make medical decisions and care for James when he turns 18 years old in September.

It also would allow for Colin and Kim to be in charge of finding housing for their son, access confidential records, withholds consent of marriage, enter into contracts, give medical consent and the ability to make educational decisions.

The 44-year-old actor has spoken out about his son’s genetic disorder in the past, explaining that it has completely changed his perspective on life.

Colin recently joined the cast of a new movie alongside Viggo Mortensen and Joel Edgerton. Click here to find out more about his new role.
