Pete Wentz's Connection to Joe Biden Explains Why Fall Out Boy Will Play at Inauguration Concert

Some people were confused to see Fall Out Boy on the performers lineup for Joe Biden‘s upcoming We the People concert ahead of his inauguration… but there’s an interesting explanation!

Biden and the band’s bassist Pete Wentz actually go way back and the rocker even credits the future president as the reason he is alive.

Back during the 2008 election, when Biden was running as the VP-running mate with Barack Obama, Pete opened up about their connection.

“I would not be standing here actually in reality at all because my parents met working for Biden,” Pete told the Associated Press at the time.

He added, “They met on the campaign, so they have this particular affection for Joe. He came to their wedding. If it weren’t for Joe Biden, I would not exist as a human being.”

Ahead of the 2020 election, Pete showed his support for Joe once again. The Fall Out Boy account tweeted, “This is the most important election of our lifetime, and standing on the sideline is not an option. We endorse Joe Biden. So please, go vote. Lives depend on it.”
