Kathy Bates Says She 'Cherishes' For Oscar Nomination For Best Supporting Actress
Kathy Bates hits the red carpet in a chic suit at the 2020 Academy Awards on Sunday (February 9) at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.
The 71-year-old actress is up for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Richard Jewell.
In a recent interview, Kathy opened up about cherishing her fourth nomination at the annual award show and how she persevered throughout her 50 year career.
“You know when I started this, people said you’re not a movie star type and they kept saying don’t expect to do well,” she shared. “But I think because I’m a character actor…because I look not like a movie star people feel like they can relate.”
This marks Kathy‘s third nomination as Best Supporting Actress. She won Best Actress for Misery in 1991.
FYI: Kathy wore Stuart Weitzman shoes.
