Renee Zellweger Says She Wanted To Capture Judy Garland's 'Human Experience' for 'Judy' Role!

Renée Zellweger happily gets in-between co-star Finn Wittrock and director Rupert Goold while stopping by the Variety Studio presented by AT&T during 2019 Toronto International Film Festival at Le Germain Hotel Toronto Mercer on Monday (September 9) in Toronto, Canada.

The 50-year-old Oscar-winning actress promoted her new movie Judy, in which she portrays the late singer and actress Judy Garland.

“I tried not to think too much about the obvious, which is how adored Judy is and has been through generations, and how she’s an icon for the ages,” Renée told EW about playing Judy. “I tried to take that off the table and look at it as an exploration of trying to understand the human experience on the other side of that stardom. I think otherwise I would’ve just run away.”
